Question about Sony VAIO PCG-TR3AP1 Notebook
My daughters Sony Vaio PCG TR3A crashed. first it stated it could not find hard drive. After playing with it, it recognized hardrive but then stated could not find operating system. I do not have Windows XP recovery disk for this computer. It will not take a regular windows XP disk. I was told that sony laptops are model specific drivers and requires a special Windows XP disk. Sony no longer carries this disk. How do I go about trying to get an operating system to work on this computer?
There should be a factory image on the HD when you try restarting it. Hold down the F8 key or F10 key while its rebooting this should start the recovery process you shouldnt need a windows disk.
