Re: 42" RCA Rear projection
This set may cost you all of $5.00 to repair. First I want you to unplug the set and look at the board containing the IHVT (called the flyback transformer by some) in the middle of the board you will see a heat sink and in the middle of the heat sink or close by you will see CP120, CP140, and CP150 one or all of these capacitors will appear to be puffy (bloated) with the top part pushed out. Replace all of the ones that look like this (puffy or bloated) That is your problem, the value of the CP150 is 2200uf 16dcv this one is usually the problem. It will cost you about 2.50 or less at radio shack.

In today's electronics devices there isn't much to repair specially if the screen is damage. The cost of the repair might exceed the price of the LCD. A cheaper way to get it fix is to try to find a defective LCD(same model) with intact screen.
Hello, I have posted this before, and I believe that is fits this problem too, This is a common problem with the ITC222 chassis, I would check CP120, CP140, CP150 to see if they are bad I suspect CP150 is the one that is bad. Its value is 2200uf 16VDC. It is located on the same board as the IHVT and is in between the Heat sink in the middle of the board.
Ok you got you a Rca ITC222 I See ALOT of these things. To start the troubleshooting.. UNPLUG the set for a min of 30 min the plug back up. ( I have never seen this work) If the set stil fails to come on then you have a processor lockup. The first thing you can conclude if the light flashes is it is NOT a FUSE. THe sets processor has determined that a safety condition has occured and shuts it down to prevent further damage and fire. THe top cause of this include Horizontal output trasistor, flyback transformer and high voltage splitter. but There is about 25 different failures that can drive it into shut down. technicains have interface equipment that can read errors codes much like a car.
typical repairs on this set run 150 to 350... if you have to replace tubes...250 per tube +labor which runs 250 ... these set new cost 800 so unless under warrenty.. you got to determine if it is worth it.
Your used TV is not worth much. Let us not fill our land fills with TV's. You may give it to a charitable oranganization (tax deduction) or local school that has an electronic course. Enjoy your new LCD you a great choice in type and brand.
you don't need a convergence board the one you have could be fix the only problem is the alignment is not that easy and won't cost $ 500 unless you live in alaska and worth fixing it today you just get bad set made in chi???
