I assume that you are coming in on channel 73 because you don't have a line level input on the display (tv) you are using. If that is the case, your options are limited. If you DO have a line input to the monitor, run the VCR to that input and just switch to that input when you want to use the VCR. If you have RF in only, -that would be the screw on type connector- you would have to have the same kind of output on the VCR. Understand, the VCR will be outputting to channel 3 or 4, so you would need a 2x rf switch, and you would have to change from channel 73 to 3 or 4 whenever you wanted to watch a movie. There may be other options, but I don't really know what you have.

I purchased a Magnavox ZV427MG9. Am able to connect video and audio cables in order to watch DVD's and VHS tapes but unable to set channels in order to time record. I was told that there was something about a tuner, but I did not understand what he was saying. Is there no longer such a thing as the old-fashioned VCR/DVD recorder player, and if not, what would I need to purchase to be able to do this?

Hi, I just bought a used vwm 950 and my son dropped it. Now the power will go on but the tape will not play. After about 10 seconds the power goes off. Did the drop kill it? Any suggestions for a fix?
