Yes, you can put a new drain hose on yourself. You can buy one from Home Depot, Lowes, or probably even Walmart.

How do I get water to come out the hose instead of the bucket?

a special adaptor is required from the mfg to allow this it bypasses the internal passageway to internal bucket and has a hose connection to what a normal garden style hose can be connected and directed over to a floor drain or pump pit
this method still requires normal maintence and cleaning thought as it can stop up too

How do you remove the filter on the back of a VRT Steam Samsung washer?

Actually there should be a little door you can access at the bottom front to clean out your pump filter, I'm including my washers pictures. 1) You first open the little door at the bottom. You do not need any tools, just something to drain the water in to. 2) Unscrew the hose closure, put your hose down into the drain bucket. Drain all the water out, you may have to empty the bucket so you can get the hose lower next time. 3) Next unscrew the filter itself. Get anything out inside the hole, in my case it was a toothpick, I take a paper towel and dry out any grit or hair. 4) Put your hose closure back on, it is held in a clip, Then screw the filter back in. That's it. I would also recommend cleaning out the drawers that hold soap, bleach and fabric softener. Also clean around the rubber ring, it will help your washer last longer. lanijo58_3.jpglanijo58_2.jpglanijo58_1.jpglanijo58_0.jpg Hope this helps you

Water not leaving machine

It won't drain If your washer won't drain, check these: It spins, but doesn't pump It doesn't spin or pump It pumps, but the water returns It spins, but doesn't pump If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port. Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job. If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump. It doesn't spin or pump If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. It pumps, but the water returns If the water that pumps out of the machine goes back into the machine after the spin cycle, your washer may be siphoning the water from a laundry tub that has a slow drain, back into the washer. The usual remedy for this is to improve the draining of the laundry tub. (Is something stuck in the drain?) Also, check for these problems: If the drain hose reaches more than about 4 inches into the laundry tub, cut off the excess. If your drain hose is lower than the washer's cabinet, install an air gap/siphon break assembly.

WF448AAP Drain hose short, door swings to left, washer on right?

plumbing in the wall is usually placed according to where your unit is going to be placed,..not the case here as i/you can see,..you should be able to get a piece of hose (from private appliance store) and an "insert coupling" (has little "barbs" on it so it stays put after you clamp it) and make your extension,...don't make it to long or to tight, you don't want tension on the hose,....baby sit this "custom repair" to insure it dosn't leak, ya know, watch a couple loads go thru it's cycle,......if you can't get this happening, you can have the drain in the wall moved,....not a big job if your drain is plastic. good luck.

I just bought the samsung SF448 steam washer. There is one problem. The ''preset'' wash cycles are supposed to be just that. If I choose the normal cycle but add another feature such as steam or...

why not do the special cycle and set it as "My Cycle". that way you can keep that one special setting under this cycle and use it every time you wish to use that particular setting

Missing drain hose

Yes, there are 2 ways to do it.  The easiest way works only if the washer is NOT on a pedestal.  Pull the washer out and tilt it back.  Have someone you trust hold the washer leaned back while you crawl underneath the unit. Look for the 3/8" rubber hose and just shove it back into the hole where the drain hose is supposed to go.  If that doesn't work, then you will have to disassemble the top, the control panel and the front panel to get to the hose.
