I'm not sure if you are saying to reset the IP of your device or not. But if you are asking how to reset the IP of your device. You can't. You device would have to have network capabilities which this drive does not. It's a desktop hard drive, not a NAS.

Resetting the RCA RP8065back to factory default

Hi Robert

MOST ROUTERS- Reset the Router by using a paper clip in the round tiny hole (or a tiny button) on the back. Hold button/paper clip in for 3-5 seconds with router powered on.

Remove power & reconnect. The modem will start up & run it\'s internal diagnostic.

FURTHER in case you need this info...

You can use a Browser (e.g. Safari, Firefox, IE etc) to access the IP address of any router from any computer. But first you must know the IP address (or the factory assigned IP address after a reset) currently assigned to the router. This could be on the back or bottom or in the manual that came with the unit.

Connect the router to a computer via an Ethernet cable. Type the IP address into the URL box and hit return. (The IP address will look like eg. or Type this into the URL entry box instead of say"> )

If the IP address is correct, the Routers Menu will show up in the browser asking for a Password. (The Router factory Password is in the manual.)

Enter the routers PASSWORD or factory password.

Once you have the routers internal menu on the browser screen you can Find the SSID and rename for your Home Network rather than the cryptic factory default. You can set the Router PASSWORD to your choice (use WAP2)

You can set the WiFi Channel number to a less used channel for your suburb (less busy=faster access). You can assign a new IP address to the device. (Use the or group number that is made available for the public). You will also have to enter the IP address of your Internet Service Provider and a PASSWORD for your ISP Account. If you don\'t have your ISP\'s preferred DNS IP handy then you can enter or (I found these give 20ms faster response)

Use the SAVE button on the screen to save your settings. This will take a minute and restart with the new settings. You should be set to go.

Once you have it all working.... don\'t forget to copy all the settings onto paper for future reference. On a Mac, just press Cmd Shift 4 and draw a box around the menu settings. This will end up as a screen shot on the Desktop. This saves a lot of writing. Rename the screen shots to something meaningful. (e.g. My Router Settings Page1)

Good Luck

I have just bought an Iomega Strocenter iX2 but cannot get it to work. I get two white lights on the front panel to show up permanently and from time to time a blue light. The set up software just says...

The IX2 doesn't have white indicator lights. The IX2-200 does which would mean that the device is healthy and ready for use.
Since you are directly connecting it to your imac via ethernet cable which is the only way to connect to the device as the USB's are hubs.
First make sure you computer is getting an APIPA address 169.254.x.x (x represents randomly generated numbers by the computer), do a factory reset (depressing the reset button on the back for 4-5 seconds) which should restart the device, open a Terminal window (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and type (without the quote marks) findsmb and hit enter. You should see your device populated on that list and you should also see an IP address associated with the device. Open an internet browser window and type the devices IP address into the address bar without the "http://" in front. You should have access to the device now.
At this point you will want to statically (manually) setup an IP for your device with your networks subnet. Once you statically set the IP. Disconnect it from your computer and put it on the network.
Good Luck.

I am trying to set up a new printer to a Linksys router model no WRT300 Ver 2.0. I have lost my IP no and also my Network Security Key, Is there any way to retreive these nos Gordon Stephens

The router can be set to factory default by performing either of these two steps:

Resetting the Router Using the Reset Button
Resetting the Router Using the Web-Based Setup Page

NOTE: Pressing the Reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds will reset your router to its factory default settings. All of the settings of the router will then be erased and the router's IP address will become

Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page
NOTE:To access the router's web-based setup page using Mac, click here.
Step 1:
Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer.
Step 2:
Go to the Address bar and enter your router's IP address ("" is the default IP of most Linksys routers) then press [Enter].

NOTE : For WRP400, the default IP address would be "" and if you place the router behind a primary router with the IP address of "", then the router will automatically assume a new default IP address, "".

NOTE: If the IP address of the router has been changed, type the router's IP address in the Address bar instead.

The router's IP address can be changed by:

1. Running the router's setup CD.

2. Changing it on the router's web-based setup page.
If you forgot the router's IP address you can:

1. Check the router's IP address. For instructions, click here.

2. Press the Reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds.

: This procedure will reset your router to factory defaults. Any settings on the router will be erased. The router's IP address will be "" and the password will be "admin".

Step 3:
A new window will prompt for a User name and Password. Leave the User name field blank then enter your router's password ("admin" is the default password), then click OK.

If you forgot the router's password you need to reset the router. For instructions, click here.

Cant able to access the 1tb network storage

Consider a few things that may solve the problem:
1. this is how I always like to test; shut down the NAS drive for a minute and reboot; once rebooted see if it is accessible
2. need to know the ip address of the NAS drive and make sure that ip is not blocked by your system firewall (e.g. add that ip into trusted address on the firewall program; or temporarily disable any anti-virus or firewall and see if you can access, and if you can then it is the issue of firewall),
3.unless you have customized the settings, open my computer and on the addressbar type type the ip address if you know (if it is WD Mybook World then you can also try typing \\mybookworld on the address bar); in this case also try it by temporarily disabling any anti-virus or firewall program
4. one way you can figure out the ip for your nas drive is through the router's homepage; since I don't know your router type I can't give you specific steps; but try to get onto the router's main page and see the client's list or DHCP Client's List or something similar where you should see an ip also assigned to the NAS drive which is connected to the same router.

Post the feedback what happens... we'll see... good luck !!!

I cant reset my senao eoc3610

1 ) Check if IP address is the correct address of your Gateway.
Check if you can ping.
Be sure you have your Java enabled
Some router requires a specific Browser (IE6 or IE7) and cannot respond to different browser.
Be sure to remove any Java protection from your Browser.
Check with user manual if IP address requires also a specific port number ( 8080 or other).
Be sure to Connect Router using Lan cable
2) Change your PC IP setting to same subnet as your router
Control Panel / Network settings / properties of TCP/IP define an IP address and a subnet mask compatible with Router as gateway.
3) If you are not sure of Router IP address use reset button on router back to factory default; use this to configure router.

Setting IP Address

Really need a bit more information, like operating system for a start, but here goes: I am guessing that your subnet mask is different from your printers. What address that you set are you getting from the printer? On your PC, what is your IP and subnetmask set to?
