Re: Replacing Lamp Panasonic TVPT-50DL54J...
The instructions are indeed SUPPOSED to come with the lamp. Sometimes that is not the case.
Call panasonic customer care @ 905-624-5505 with the part number of the lamp and they can probably mail or fax the instructions.

You may have a bad lamp. Open the door on the side & pull lamp. The part number is TY-LA2006. They cost about $200-225. BE SURE to reset the lamp timer. If you buy an original Panasonic TY-LA2006 lamp, it will have instructions to reset lamp timer.
This all probably comes a couple years too late, but when you
install a new lamp, you’ll want to reset the hours on the counter your
television has. Doing this will allow you to avoid getting any
messages about the lamp needing to be replaced despite you having a new
lamp inside your set.
If you need to get into the service menu, you can do so by following these directions:
With power on, hold down VOL minus button on projection display and
hold down the PIP or SPLIT button (try both) on the remote
simultaneously for more than 5 seconds.
first off all it's not necessary to have the TV on to reset it. the problem is the dmd need to send the info that you have a working lamp.
try this to see if it work's
Panasonic TY-LA1000 TV Lamp Reset Procedure/instructions: Ok,
so apparently there are a couple of different ways forum members have
found out how to reset their Panasonic Lamp timer (this should apply to
all of them, not just the TY-LA1000 specific lamp)
“Hold the VOL down button on the TV and the SPLIT button on the REMOTE for five seconds”
you will need to press the Volume button on the TV while pressing hte
SPLIT button on the Remote Control for five seconds, it will NOT work
if you try to do it both from your remote!
If you haven't replaced the lamp yet, that is the first thing to try. Its not hard to do at all.
You can get the lamp just about anywhere on the web. Here is a link to one site http://lamps-dlp.com/ProductDetail.asp?PartNumber=TY-LA1001&A=G&B=LA1001 Here is the procedure for replacing the lamp. Unplug the unit from the wall and wait for all the lights to stop blinking. Ensure that the lamp and the area around the lamp has cooled. Remove the front cover of the set. You should be able to see the lamp door at this time, loosen the screw and remove the door. You will now have access to the lamp, loosen the lamp screws and remove the lamp cartridge. Reverse the above process and you should be back in business. For the full instructions and how to reset the lamp timer go to the following site http://fixyourdlp.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/panasonic-tyla1000-lamp-instructions.pdf I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
