Question about Anycom - PM-400 - USB/Parallel Bluetooth Printer Adapter (856553000291) Print Server

Anycom PM-400 does not recognise HP LJ 9040n

We have just taken delivery of an HP 9040n (which is a bit of a monster, to be honest...). Transferred my anycom to the new printer from the LJ5000 we have been using for a while but the printer connectivity light does not go on, so the printer is not usable. Anyone think of any settings that I may have omitted? Cheers

Cannot open Solution Center. HP does not recognized its opwn product

1).You might have the software CD supplied by the HP along with the printer you purchased, Please try to re-instal the software by using the supplied CD. If you try to instal the software again , a message will prompt you to reinstall or repair the already installed software. So, you must mark tick mark agasinst the repair and incert the CD in the CD Drive of your conputer which was supplied by the HP.Your problem will be solved automatically.i.e. your printer will be recognised by your computer. If your computer failed to recognise your printer , even though HP software was reinstalled, try to solve your problem with the following solution.

2).Kindly check the power cable. It may have damaged. So please try to contact 'HP authorised service center' in your area. They may check the cables attached to your printer and if they were damaged you may purchase the power cable from them for nearly Rs.600/-. If you are having warranty , the power cable may be supplied by the 'HP authorised service center, free of cost. Hence , I think your problem may be solved permanently.
But, don't try to purchase the power cable at any sales counter.

to be perectly honest I did not fix it and I don't think there is any other solution than to replace the wire behind the carriage that keeps ejecting the blk cartridge...i think that makes sense but hewitt packard doesn't get it....someone there told me to make a copy of the complaint and send it to them...I do speak English but evidently not clear enough. I can't be bothered with the aggrevation at 76 who needs it. I think it was a defect to begin with...who knows...thank you for your concern....lainie332

HP LJ P1008 can be used as network printer ?

I have one of theses D-Link PD-301U. It does NOT support a printer like yours. According to D-Link's Web site, here are the HP Laser printers it supports (note the P1008 is NOT in the list):

  • 1200
  • 1500 (USB 2.0)
  • 2200
  • 2200D
