Try and get hold of an old copy of Norton, something like Norton Antivirus 2002. Anything much newer will make your machine unusable.

Sir i have intel pentium 3 processor support antivirus

Hi

Anti-Virus Programs will work with this processor, running Windows XP.

For newer Operating systems, there might be a problem with speed, due to the limitations of the processing power of the processor.

The motherboard for this Computer is likely to take old SD-RAM or even older EDO RAM, which are difficult to find at a reasonable price nowadays, because they are rare.

You should aim for a motherboard with 4 RAM slots to accept as much RAM Memory as possible.

Suggested good quality, low resource usage antivirus programs:

AVAST! (www.avast.com)

AVIRA (avira.com)

BULLGUARD (www.bulguard.com)

I hope this helps.

Wont to upgrade graphic card my p.c has 2gig max ram in it wonts should i upgrade to to preform its best cheers mike

Depends on what kind of hardware you have
-Memory- 2 gb ram is "ok" if you use windows XP but if you have Vista or Windows 7 you should have a minimum of 4gb ram.
-Processor- if you have a Dual core processor you are ok, if you have a p4 or p3 you dont want to waste money on a new graphics card because it will not help you get better games, your processor and memory will slow you down instead.
So my advice is, if you have a OK computer, go ahead with buying a new graphics card if you computer is old and slow, DONT buy a new card! put your money on +2gb ram instead (cheap, and gives you more benefits) or maybe buy an "upgrade package" with new motherboard-memory-processor.

Hi I got bluescreen when am install window xp

There would usually be information on the blue screen to help us diagnose the problem but there is more comment that needs to be made. If you still have just the 128M of ram and the 10G hard drive then forget installing xp. xp needs a minimum of 1G ram to work in and that is the maximum your machine can hold. Secondly, the 10G hard drive will only just work when you have got SP2 & 3 installed - there will be no room left for anything else.

Additionally, this machine will be quite slow with a P3 processor running at 733M but it's your choice.

If you want to install xp on this machine I would suggest getting the ram to maximum and a larger hard drive installed before continuing. If you have already done this then please get back to us with any error message that may be on the blue screen.

Hello,

Thanks for using fixya.

My name is Carlo.

Your computer might not pass the system requirements that's why it has an error. Or, you can try installing it one more time and check if it will work. Computers do mess up sometimes.

Here's the system requirement of SIMS 3:

Desktop PC (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Desktop PC (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Laptop (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

Laptop (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 2 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

IF your computer does not pass the system requirement, then you cannot play sims3 in your computer.

I hope this helps. Thank you for using fixya

Incorrect value on ram

Hi,

Even if the new memory is 256mb, the motherboard will not read it as such but a max of only 128mb. Alternately, what you need is to get is another 128mb SRAM rated at 100/133 MHz. Sorry to say but yours is a common problem when newer memory are fitted to a relatively not so recent machine.

Good luck and kind regards.

Boot beeps

re check all inserted pci cards and all memory, reseat if necassary. Have you recently upgraded anything, if so remove. Continuos beeps can also indicate processor power failure.
