52" plasma tv - turns on - and I hear something reset inside
This just happened last night - the tv was working fine and then all of a sudden I hear a click and no picture. I can turn the tv on and then I hear something inside of it reset with a clicking sound - and now no picture to the tv even though I know it's on. It is a 52" dell plasma
Re: 52" plasma tv - turns on - and I hear something reset...
I hear a clicking noise- the clicking noise is most likely you ballast trying to power the lamp, but failing. this may indicate a defective ballast if you have recenty purchased a new lamp.I recomend you have your lamp tested to help narrow down the cause of the defect. It's highly unlikely for a new lamp to be dead on arrival

Fault with its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
I think, when a power supply's time is up, it's up now. There is not usually any advance warning,(besides your warranty has expired of course). If you are feeling un-normal heat from the TV, that is a sign the power board just fried out. They always get very hot, from the microchips cooking themselves until there is nothing left to need power. Plan on paying a TV tech to replace your power board.
I had the same thing happen to me this morning. I turned on the TV and it had colored vertical lines through the whole screen. I called Sony and they had me unplug the TV for about 15 minutes. This solved the problem. They said the boards just needed to be reset. It fixed the problem and I am happy with my Sony once again.

I have a 42 inch plasma and I was watching tv last night on it and suddenly it turned off on it's own. I tried turning it off and on and nothing happened. Then I tried to unplug it and replug it and nothing. My remote does not work either. Anyone know what exactly happened? Did my screen blow or what? I hardly ever use the tv and I only had it on from 8:30 p.m. - 10:20 p.m. and it turned off. All the other tv's in my house worked fine - I checked them. Also, my dvd player and cable box is on the same power cord and both of them work. Any solutions or help would be most appreciated!!! Does it just need to cool down or did I burn something out? Help!!!
