Question about Fuji FinePix Z10fd Digital Camera

1 Answer

Is installing FinePixViewer necessary?

My laptop is property of my workplace and so I don't have administative privelages. I want to copy pictures to my computer but can't install the software...I am wondering if installing it is absolutely necessary or just a strong recommendation for you to use their program. The manual says in bold, italics "DO NOT connect the camera to the computer until installation is complete" so I have been afraid to try connecting it without the software installed...any advice?

It wont break anything. They just want you to use their program!

if you connect the camera via the usb cord that came with it your computer will detect it and you can access it in MY COMPUTER icon.. just explore the new drive that shows up..might be a pic of your camera or say removable disk F, G, H etc...

In this drive will be the folders that house your pics.. just copy and paste into your desktop and voilla!!!

How can I find out who my father named as beneficiaries on his assets before his ***** ?

via the court where the estate was administered. Whenever property or substantial assets are involved, probate must be obtained from the court. Once that is done, the will is deemed proven, stamped and sealed. It allows the executors to administer the estate on behalf of the beneficiaries. If you know who your fathers lawyers were, you can also ask them as they will have copies.

I cant load my pictures in my computer

If images cannot be imported automatically into the Windows PC, check [Precautions] below.

[Precautions]

- Temporarily terminate resident software such as antivirus software.

- Connect the AC adapter or load a fully charged battery into the digital camera.

- If RealPlayer 10 is installed, select "Tools" - "Preferences" and then disable "Automatic Services."

XXXen the digital camera is connected to the PC, if the FinePixViewer starts up and images in the digital camera are displayed, skip Steps 1 to 5 and start with Step 6.

1. Start up the PC and then connect the digital camera and PC using a USB cable.

2. The "USB MODE" setting of the digital camera may be set to "PC CAM."

Set "USB MODE" to "Card Reader" or "DSC."

*Only in the case of the digital cameras that have the "USB MODE" setting in the SETUP menu

3. Check whether or not any mark indicating the USB connection (USB, CARD READER, USB symbol with an arrow mark, etc.) is displayed on the LCD monitor of the digital camera.

If not, the digital camera and the PC are not connected properly. Check the following points.

a. Restart the PC, disconnect and connect the USB cable and then try again.

b. If the PC has multiple USB ports, connect the USB cable to another port and then try again.

If no mark indicating the USB connection is displayed even after performing above Steps (a) and (b), the digital camera or USB cable may have a problem.

4. Check whether or not "Removable Disk" is displayed in "My Computer." (For example, when the operating system is Windows XP, a FinePix icon in the shape of a digital camera is displayed.)

If "Removable Disk" is not displayed, install the USB driver again.

5. Automatic startup software (Exif Launcher) may not function properly.

Perform the following procedure.

[Windows XP]

a. Select "Start" - "My Computer."

b. Right-click the "FinePix" icon and then click "Properties."

c. Click the AutoPlay tab.

d. Click "Music files" and then select "Pictures" from the displayed list.

e. Select "Select an action to perform."

f. Select "Viewing images with FinePixViewer."

g. Click the "OK" button.

6. The Automatic Save Settings may be incorrect.

Specify the Automatic Save Settings again by following the procedure below.

a. Start up the FinePixViewer.

b. Select "Automatic Save Settings" in the "Settings" menu.

*If "*** not found" is displayed, click the "OK" button.

c. In the "Way of Saving" column, click the "Browse" button to specify the storage location.

Pictures will not upload to laptop.

I had a similar problem recently - the computer wasn't even recognising that it was plugged in. I eventually took the battery out and charged it up, then later it worked perfectly. I hope this is helpful to you.

Cannot upload pictures from camera to mac

if you have a sd card then all you need to do is insert the card into a card reader slot on your pc. If you have no card slots you can buy a portable card reader (the sd card fits into one end and the other end fits into a USB port.) You can pick them up really cheap, I picked one up from a pound shop. It solves all the messing around with the software for the camera etc....

What is the procedure for sending pictures over the Internet in FinePixViewer?

To send a FinePixViewer image file in an e-mail message as an attachment, Microsoft Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook 2000 e-mail software is required. 1. In the "My Computer" window on your PC, select "Internet Options" in "Control Panel" and click "Programs". 2. Check that "Outlook Express" or Outlook" 2000" is displayed in the "E-mail" field. Attaching an image file to an e-mail message 1. Launch FinePix Viewer. 2. Select the folder containing the image file in the folder tree display area on the left. Thumbnails of the images in the folder appear on the right. "Outlook Express" or "Outlook 2000" is displayed in the "E-mail" field. 3. Click the thumbnail for the image file to be attached to the e-mail. To attach multiple files, hold down the [Ctrl] key on the keyboard and click the images to select them. To deselect an image file, click the image again. 4. With the thumbnail for the image file to be attached still selected, select "Mail sending" in the "File" menu. Your e-mail software starts up and the image file is attached to a message. Fill in the destination address, title and the message body, and then use the usual procedure to send the message. * images files sent using FinePixViewer can be no larger than 1 MB and no more than 10 files in total. If the total file size is greater than 1 MB, a warning message appears when you click [Mail sending]. If the files are too large, decrease the number of files until the warning message no longer appears. Note also that you should not exit FinePixViewer until mail transmission is completed, otherwise it will not be possible to send the e-mail message with the attached image file. * Some service providers place limits on the sizes of files that can be attached to an e-mail message. The transmission of large image files can also take a considerable time. Select "Mail Transmission Settings" from the "Settings" menu in FinePixViewer and resize the attached image files so that they are no larger than necessary.
