I have a problem with my Canon LV-7265 Projector. When I turn it on, a message appear "please clean the filter" with a blue windows! Please help me how to fix this problem. I try to clean 2...

You need to go into the settings menu and find the lamp reset and filter reset area, sometimes when you get to the reset part you hold down enter then an additional box may show reset/OK, select OK which should reset the filter hours. Most projectors have the filter reset but sometimes resetting can be difficult to work out. I had an old NEC where you had to hold down the on button of the remote for ten seconds to reset.
Hopefully this helps. There may be support from the manufacturers website plus downloadable user instructions.

Good luck

Our club owns a Canon LV-7240 which has worked OK. Last night we showed an NTSC DVD from Europe and no red showed. We could see what the colours ought to be on the laptop screen. On the big screen,...

Can't answer for the menu issues, but I can garuntee this is not a problem with brightness, contrast or sharpness, and very unlikely that you'll find a solution in the menu. What is likely is that the VGA wasn't plugged in properly initially. When the signal is going down the VGA it's broken up into 5 seperate signals, Red, Green, Blue and 2 sync signals. What is likely is that the green and blue pins havn't properly made contact either inside the projector or inside the laptop. This would also explain why it worked when you tried later because it made the connection properly. I would suggest trying again with the same laptop, if it does it again, try another PC without moving the projector or the VGA connector that's plugged into the projector. This will atleast narrow down your problem, but it doesn't sound like a problem with the projector to me. Also try plugging the laptop that wasn't working properly into a monitor (this will test the laptop)

My Canon LV-5210 displays no image for my computer. It has worked fine in the past. And it did not work a couple days ago and then it worked OK yesterday when we accidentently pushed the Input buttom. But...

If your projector displays no image, this could be a variety of problems. First, check that the projector has power. On the top of the LCD or DLP projector should be some lights. With power, those lights will be on. If it has power, check to make sure that the projector lamp is firing. If so, go to the source. Make sure that it is connected with a VGA cable or USB cable to your computer, or with an RGB cable, S-Video cable or DVI connection to your VCR/DVD Player. From a laptop computer, the VGA cable should be connected to the VGA out connection, and into the VGA in connection on the projector. Are both ends tight?
If everything has checked out so far, the solution probably lies with the external monitor port. Check this by holding the Fn key on the keyboard, then press the F7 key. (On some computers, the key might be F5 or F3. Try these if F7 doesn't work) Each time you press the Fn / F7 combination, you will cycle your display through the following settings:
* Press Fn / F2 or F2 once: The laptop screen only
* Press Fn / F2 or F2 twice: The projector port only
* Press Fn / F7 or F2 three times: Both the laptop and projector port
* Wait a few seconds after each time you press the key combination to let the LCD or DLP projector refresh. Nine times out of ten this will result in seeing your projected image.
this should help you :)

Display

Hi, Yes it is possible but.... Your laptop version may either be using an NVidia or an ATI. If an NVidia, right click on any clear area of your desktop, click on Properties, (in Display Properties) Settings, Advanced, TwinView tab, Clone, Apply, OK, Yes (if you want to keep this setting), OK. Am not sure if it will work with the ATI version, right click on any clear area of your desktop, click on Properties, (in Display Properties) Settings, Advanced, Display, TV button, Primary (display only on projector) hope you have other setting like LCD + TV (display on both), Apply, Yes (if you want to keep this setting), OK. Your Canon LV-S3 Multimedia Projector's Native resolution is 800x600 max @ 1280x1024 Pixels. You may need to set your laptop to the lowest first and gradually work it up till the projector no longer can display, then back down one notch. You may also need to press on Fn + F8 a few times to check if you can switch displays: LCD, TV/projector, LCD + TYV/Projector. You can try either the S-video TV-out connector or the video connector (both at the back). Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

Canon lv5210 projector

This link allows you to download the manual. if you need it; http://www.usa.canon.com/app/pdf/projector/lv7215_7210_5210_manual.pdf page 41 especially worth a look page 43 gives all details for lamp replacement if you still think is the problem. Almost certainly the problem is to do with overheating - which is either a bulb problem or a malfunctioning fan. See if the fan runs when you turn it on and check it is clear. Hope this helps :)
