ON THE LEFT HALF OF THE PAGE, I GET NOTHING BUT BLACK. THE BLACK BORDER RUNS DIAGONALLY FROM RIGHT TO LEFT DOWN THE PAGE.
I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED THE DRUM AND THE DEVELOPER LIGHT DOES NOT INDICATE A NEED FOR A CHANGE.
ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAGE, I GET THE COPIED IMAGE.

There are no "cleaning sheets" for this unit. Typically when this unit starts leaving marks on printed copies then it is time to do some maintenance on it. By maintenance I mean replacing the imaging drum, the toner and or the developer, all of which can be ordered from this link; Sharp Monochrome Copier Copier Duplicator FREE delivery If you don't feel comfortable then you need to call service!
if it is copied on long or legal size of paper are the fine lines on top to bottom or left to right? if it id from top to bottom check for the charge roller, clean an dry it with a cloth, wet with alcohol or water. if from left to right on a legal size of paper check for any vibration coming from the developing unit, like loose gears.
You can clean the cartridge using the following steps:
Click on "Start," go to "All Programs," and down to the Lexmark. Click on the "Solution Center." Next, click on the "Maintenance" tab. Select "Clean to fix horizontal strips." This will produce a printed page.
The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple) and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean to fix horizontal strips" page a couple more times to try and clear it up. If you still have gaps at the top and bottom, you should "wick" the cartridges by following the steps given below:
1. Please open the "Solution Center" again and go to the "Maintenance" Tab. 2. Select "Install color/black cartridge" and remove the cartridge (or cartridges) from the printer. 3. Get a damp paper towel. 4. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds. 5. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean. Also, wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). 6. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing. 7. Snap the cartridges back into the printer. 8. On your computer, select "Old Cartridge install." 9. Repeat the "Clean to fix horizontal strips" one more time. If this fails to address the problem, the entire procedure may need repeating.
Potential causes: dirty rollers, dirty glass, bad fuser, or even a bad drum.
I'd start with making sure all of the rollers and paper feeders are clean. You can use a damp cloth, or even a cloth with a little bit of rubbing alcohol and clean the rollers really good. I'd also make sure the glass is clean. Use windex and clean real good.
If problem persists, then it could be a fuser or drum. Try replacing the fuser first.
I'm sure you may find a manual, but your copier is rather old.... When you make a copy do you get a error code? How about when you make a copy, do you see the scanning lamp turn ON? Here is you thing you can try, make sure the Primary Corona unit is pushed in all the way in. It has a grey handel on it and it should be found right above the Drum... Good Luck
