My KLH DA1302 5-Disc CD Changer door will not open or close.

The door will not open or close when I push the close/open button. I have tried turning the power on and off but that doesn't work. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi: Im Ronald Marts in January 2008 I posted a problem with my KLH DA1302 5-Disc CD Changer,it is still posted on this website on the details of my problem I found that with the top off the door will not open or close, the disc will spin but thats all. After checking all wiring, screws for looseness I gave up and put the top on, being frustrated I foregot to unplug the machine before putting the top on. I put my hand on the top in front of the machine to put in the screws on the back, in the meantime my wife pressed the open- close button and it worked, when I took my hand off it quit working, there is a metalic metal strip on the inside of the top in front that has to make contact to the components inside to solve this problem I put two pieces of wood wrapped up in a wash cloth and wedged them on top of the machine and the cabinet it is kept in one on each side towards the front I know It sounds crazy but it works and my wife is estatic, she likes to listen to her CD,s with her cordless ear phones when she does things around the house. I hope this has helped you all with this problem.

Thank you so much ronaldmarts!! After having my DA1302 unused in a basement for several years, I dug it out to use it and had the same problem -- it powered on but indicated all 5 discs were loaded (when it turned out to only contain 1), made a whirring sound but the tray would not open! My first problem was not being able to open the cover -- I forgot about those 2 hidden screws set deep into holes in the bottom that have to be removed as well as the 5 on the back. Once I got the cover off, after reading your article, I noticed that the metal strip at the top front of the cover looked dull instead of shiny -- thought that might make it difficult to contact the inner mechanisms as you described (probably a safety measure to keep people from operating it with the cover off and possibly causing injury or damage with the laser!). Anyway, I lightly sanded the strip with some fine sandpaper, then cleaned it with windex (lots of black stuff came off) then replaced the cover making sure it was FIRMLY inserted into the top of the front panel, and then replaced all screws, tightening them as much as possible before stripping them (they are only plastic -- be careful!) Voila -- it works again!!!!

Need drawer belt for Yamaha CDC-805 CD changer - the one needed that opens and closes the changer's door - not sure where to get it or the part number. I thought I ordered the right one and got the 'drive'...

Any decent repair shop should have a large supply of replacement belts. The Part number isn't necessary. Just take the old one in and get a new one just 2mm smaller than the original. Some repair shops won;t sell them because they don't want you repairing your own property but a decent shop should sell you one.

Onkyo C-707chx cd tray jammed won't open won't play

I have the same exact problem with my Onkyo C-707CHX and I found a solution that doesn't involve jamming any screws or other metal objects into your cd tray (which could most likely just cause more damage). This way seems a little safer: Power on your device and hit the open button. As soon as you hit the open button quickly push slightly with both hands on both sides of the cd tray that should be opening. You should hear the trays moving around in there and then you have to try to feel for a slight push from the tray. As soon as you feel that slight push, take your hands off of the tray and let it come out. This has been working for me for a while now (and hopefully will continue to work until I take it to get fixed somewhere). The only issue I have run into is that my "Disc 1" open button doesn't work with this method. So I just use this method with disc 2 or 3 and then once it's open I can hit the disc 1 button to get to that tray. So if it doesn't work with one tray, try the other two as well. Hope this helps.

Open, closes and rotates the cd compartment, endless...

If there's a disk left over inside, It's stuck in the drive hanger, and should be removed else the changer can't put it back in it's right slot. Open the machine and check for any CD's still inside.

If not, could be that the small sensore (to the left of the head assembly (just before the drve (upside down)) is dirty or messed up.

Try cleaning if.

CD-R does not read disks anymore

I recently resolved CD-R recognition problems with the KLH CDR2000. It's absolutely imperative that you utilize CD-Rs bearing the logo "COMPACT DISC DIGITAL AUDIO RECORDABLE". These specific CD-Rs are designed for digital music recording with the KLH CDR2000 and other simular products. I have a Marantz CD20 that has the same CD-R requirement. I purchased a Memorex 50-pack from Best Buy for approximately $20.00 plus tax. The recordings with the Memorex CD-Rs are immpressive for the KLH CDR2000 given the obvious flaws in design. Again, when searching for compatible disc for the KLH CDR2000 look for the words "DIGITAL AUDIO" within the "COMPACT DISC RECORDABLE" logo.
