Good morning,

I have a Canon powershot A95 and am trying to format the card. I have erased all the pictures on the card with my computer but can not find the correct menu that will allow the camera to reformat the card.

Turn camera on and click menu at the bottom of the camera under the LCD screen, Then it will show a camera with the top high lighted click right on the round control it has a lightning bolt at the top with a flower on the bottom of it. You will then see two tools highlighted you will click down 5 times it will show your cf card, right click again and format will come up tell it OK by right clicking on that control again. And you are done

How do you erase all images on a Canon IXUS 1100 HS camera?

If all the pictures are on a memory card, format the memory card. If all the pictures are in the internal memory, remove the memory card (if installed) and format the internal memory.

Formatting wipes out all information from the memory card or internal memory and prepares it for further use. This is better than deleting individual pictures and will help prevent future troubles.

I purchased a 4GB memory card for use in my A95. I occasionally get a 'corrupted file' error message. Is it possible the card is too big for this model? The card was formatted.

Yes, 4GB card is too big for Canon A95 camera as its hardware does not support such big memory.
Put max 2GB or less memory card in this camera.

CAn u format the memory card using the camera because i so not have a slot to put it in my computers hard drive???? in other words how do i format??

Press the function button. Go to the "tools" menu. Scroll down to select the item that shows memory cards capacity. Then follow the on-screen prompts to format. A "low-level" format is best, so select this if asked. But also note that this will totally erase your card, so do this only after downloading and backing up your photos.

I keep getting an memory card error message on my canon PowerShot

try doing a format with the camera. there should be an icon of a wrench in the menu--in this sub menu you will see "format." this action will erase anything on the card. i actually had the same problem with a canon camera, and this worked for me. Sometimes new flash cards are not compatible off the shelf--they need to be formatted. You should have at least flash cards to be sure card is not defective. Let me know if this helps!
