Scanning How do you add user names and/or email addresses to the copier for scanning purposes?

Yopu do all this on your computer program this machine does not have scan to email in the machine so you need an external program to achieve this.

How do I add a fixed email to scan so I don't have to input address every time?


You can create user (email) in address book from copier control panel as well. Then when you press scan, the email contact address will be there to select.

Brother MFC7340 scan to gmail


Try reading your Brother scanner manual and it will tell you how to set up whatever email account you plan to use to email your scans.The Gmail settings you probably need are these:

For SMTP Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS or SSL:
smtp.gmail.com
Use Authentication: Yes
Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587
Port for SSL: 465
Server timeouts Greater than 1 minute, we recommend 5
Full Name or Display Name: [your name]
Account Name or User Name: your full email address (including @gmail.com or @your_domain.com)
Email Address: your email address (user...@gmail.com or username@your_domain.com)
Password: your Gmail password

Hi we have just installed a gestetner asm645 (i think thats its name), and want to delete the old companies accounts as when we try to scan something it says it needs a "senders" account to scan...


can delete user accounts under system settings. Press the button marked 123(where you get your meter reading). under system settings go to administrator tools and address book managments. can delete user accounts and create new 1's. Or you can trun the user authentcation off. Then no code is needed.

Sender - under system settings go to file transfer. input your smtp and managers account email. When programing user in address book look for add as sender and input the email address. When emailing you can select sender and destination. If the user is not set up as a sender the list will be empty and you would not be able to select a sender. set up a user (email) that any one can use.

How does a user store an email address for later use when scanning?


you need to go into the user tools and administrator tools> then to address book > then add new enter the name and the email address of the person you require. you will need the administrators email address to use as default password to clear through server. when you have done this if you go to the scanner button you should see the user there.

How do you add and delete users' emails for scanning


U can store all the users emails on address books. Then when u want to perform scan to email, just press the email button on the particular to add, re-press again to remove.

Add a new email address


if you are connected thru the network the best way is to start Top access then click registration tab,then address book. on that page you will find add address.
or on the machine press "user functions",then tab address,then press address book,find free slot, press entry. there u will find space everything. after U enter just confirm that and that it.

Set up email/scan

  1. press FUNCTION key
  2. select FAX/EMAIL SETTINGS icon
  3. select ADDRESS BOOK
  4. select ADD EMAIL ADDRESS
  5. input your email address
  6. input your name
  7. select ok
  8. input a key name
  9. you can choose if you want to add it to favorites or not
  10. press stop key to return to idle state
that's it :)

at the copier press the scan button touch direct input tab,touch scan to smb, in the host name field enter the tcpip address of the target pc, in the destination folder enter the shared folder name, in the user id field enter the valid workgroup or domain user name, in the password field enter the user password, press start. at the computer you have to create a shared folder on the root of c: and give it all rights read and write allowed this is how to scan to a shared folder you can also sca to an internal email server or to a ftp server on your network or to a usb flash drive that you can plug directly into the machine

I need to change a name and set up scan to email


As far as the name goes, I assume that it must be a watermark / overlay that is programmed into your printer driver. Go to the printer "properties" and go into "printing preferences" and select "custom settings", and check the watermark/ overlay settings.
There are a couple of different drivers , so the location of this could vary slightly.
As for programming Email?
If you have some addresses programmed and working already?
The easiest way to add more is to open a web browser and type your printer's ip address in the address bar, select "administrator Mode".
The default user name is "admin". The default password is either "password", or just leave blank (can't remember which)
select "address book", then you will see the names of the destination you have programmed. If you highlight one of them and select "change" you will be able to view the settings that need to be made. Then exit out of that page, and select "add" and input the information for the new destination.
If you have not setr up scan to email, you will need to make many other settings in the web browser that I cannot go through, but it involves all of your TCP/IP settings, email settings such as user name, password, SMTP, POP, etc...etc.

Adding names to the email list for scanning


go into user tolls, system settings, administrator tools, address book management. or use you web browser and for an address type in the IP address of ur machine and log in. the default user name is admin with no password then click on address book.
