Displays 'App Error 523' Reset on blank white screen
On my 8100 Pearl the above appears after a text box appears on the home screen saying 'Uncaught exception Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(71)is not responding; process terminated' OK .
I don't know of any request I've ask of it to do this or take so long to think. It's frustrating at times how often the hour glass appears to give thought time. I'm unsure if this is related to the application area.
I look forward to your reply and thank you for taking the time to give thought to my problem.

Sometimes it helps to upgrade your OS ...from say (a)22.214.171.1242 to say (b)126.96.36.1995. I was getting tons of uncaught applications on my 9550.I upgraded from (a) to (b) and the problem is gone.Along with battery issues. Can you try that?Your carrier must have OS upgrades for your device on their website.Good luck!
i get this all the time. it says in tiny black letters app error. press enter or the trackbal and it should reset and you'll e god to go. it just meant that when you turned it on, one or more of the apps didnt run successfully.
On the BlackBerry smartphone, the 523 app. error Reset error message appears after pressing the Mute button, accessing an application, or performing a hard reset:
To resolve this issue, first perform a hard reset.
A hard reset involves physically removing the battery from the smartphone and then reinserting it. To perform a hard reset, complete the following steps:
1) Remove the battery cover from the back of the BlackBerry smartphone. 2) Remove the battery, and then reinsert it after a few seconds. 3) Replace the battery cover.
If this does not resolve the issue, the BlackBerry Device Software must be re-installed.
Note: The BlackBerry smartphone will not show a Connected state in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Proceed to open and run the application loader tool.
If BlackBerry Desktop Manager cannot connect to the BlackBerry smartphone, perform the following steps:
1. Remove the battery and run loader.exe from
C:\program files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.
2. Remember to reinsert the battery after the loading operations begin.
I Hope it helped you.

install Blackberry Desktop on your computer and download the latest Blackberry Phone software from your carriers webite and instal it on your computer. Then connect your phone WITHOUT the battery to your PC and Click on App Loader. Follow directions and install the Software. The Installation WILL FAIL THE 1ST TIME. Thats normal. This time connect the phone WITH the battery and try the same thing again and you will have a brand new phone. except your Data.
