If it is a Windows Mobile 5 device, reload the OS in full using SD card method. If the device is Windows CE5, you can enter IPL mode by doing a coldboot, and whilst inserting the battery back in the device, press the trigger and put it in the cradle until it enters IPL. Once there, you can either use SD card with the OS Hex files or you can use USB Download from Motorola to download the files sing a cradle from your PC. It will be recognised by the PC as this method does not use Active sync.
You have a virus.....download and run " USB SHOW" program
Try free downloading at cnet downloading or download.com
When you download the program scan your memory and delete all the unknowed files with del+shift keys twice
Hi, I'vefound this method works best especially on Window Mobile versions, windows CEdoes not seem to have the problem.
Have the battery inserted,
Remove the battery so its at the first stage of removal,
Hold down the On/Off button and trigger,
Insert the battery, still with On/Off button and trigger held,
As soon as the amber light flashes release the On/Off button and trigger.
Unit will attempt to cold boot and then warm boot,
If it works then it will boot through to the Windows Splash screen or desktop.
If it fails and continuously warm boots, remove the battery fully as soon as it cycles a warm boot.
The terminal will not switch off at this stage and will completely drain the backup battery and RAM, giving you a complete clean cold boot
Leave the battery out fro 20 minutes.
Power on and see how far you get.
If it stillfails after this I would suggest a complete re-flash of the system. Please posta follow up question on how to do this. Hopethis helps. Ifyou need any more help then please do not hesitate to contact us:- email@example.com orTEL 01202 620955 http://www.biastechnology.com/
This can be for a number of reasons. First thing would be to try and cold boot the device:- Remove battery half way, hold power button and trigger, push battery in fully until click and then release power and trigger If that fails next thing would be to try and re-flash the operating system. This is done by using an SD card and loading the latest operating files onto it. The SD card slot is located under the keypad. A cross head screwdriver is required to remove the keypad. Search on symbol software download site for the latest. The download also has a readme with detailed instructions. Once the files are on perform a cold boot. Remove battery half way, hold power button and trigger, push battery in fully until click and then release power and trigger. Drop the terminal in a cradle so that it runs on external power. Hope this helps. If you need any more help then please do not hesitate to contact us:- http://www.biastechnology.com/ or TEL 01202 620955
Hello jumpmaster. When an MC90XX does this, it means that something has gone wrong with the Operating System file execution. Sometimes a cold-boot can fix it (instructions below). If not, then there is a problem with the OS files. If you purchased your MC90XX from Motorola/Symbol you should be able to download a copy of your OS to reinstall. The file will include a readme.txt that will walk you through the process. I hope this solves your problem. Good luck!
To Cold Boot
Press the primary battery release to partially eject the battery.
While the battery is partially released: simultaneously press and release the trigger and power button.
Push the battery back in until it clicks.
The MC90XX should power up and start it's boot-sequence.
"Check serial Input" is just part of the cycle on boot up. It checks for a key press on boot up so that it can access a hidden menu. A cradle, serial null modem cable and hyper-terminal is required to bring up this menu You can try and re-install the operating system. Download the latest image from Intermec (you will need to register) and then load the image onto an SD card. Remove the front cover just above the scan engine; 2 slot head screws and insert the SD card. Cold boot the device. Take off battery and hit the reset button a few times. Re-install battery. Image will begin to reload. Detailed instructions are available with the download. NOTE: The latest image downloads from Intermec not longer have the Telnet application pre-installed. If you require the telnet client then select a previous version, but then also not that there are usually 2 versions EX25 and non-EX25 scan engine type.
