Cannot get hdmi cables to work on our tv.

We have a HD ready toshiba regza 42x3030 tv and we are unable to get the hd effect or a cable to work on it. We originally tries with our playstation 3 and had no joy so we have just bought a blu-ray player and it still does not work. We are running out of ideas and have lost our tv manual. Can you help?

I have got a similar problem on the same set.
Only i have 2 HDMI inputs and the first works fine but the 2nd doesnt seem to be working?

Rather annoying as i wanted to run the TV off the 1st and the PS3 off the 2nd.

The TV picture goes off after a time but when you turn the TV off and on the picture comes back

Two things could be the culprit. One is the hdmi is bad or two the hdmi cable is too long. If its too long go to firefold.com and get an hdmi extender/amplifier

Toshiba REGZA 37AV500A LCD TV when using HDMI input picture and sound intermitantly blacks out for about 2 seconds

Does this happen with all the HDMI inputs. If only the one then jack is bad. Replace the main board. If on all HDMI inputs see if replacing the cable helps.

You can try to connect the DVD and the TV with a HDMI cable. after this, you have to disable the sound from the TV's speakers and enable the sound from the DVD.

No HDMI input socket on Toshiba 'HD Ready' TV

There is an easy way to adapt the cable.

Any good computer shop will have the adaptor.

Take the HDMI cable to them, and tell them you want an adaptor to go to composite signal.

(I know that they're made, many of the graphics cards I use to build computers come with that cable adaptor)

You also might try Best Buy or Radio Shack, but you might not have much luck with them.

No Video for my cable tv. Audio works

You have the TV connected to the cable box with an HDMI cable, I'll bet. The problem is with the cable box. If you unplug the cable box and plug it back it it will reboot and proabably work. You should connect the cable box to the TV using component cables and you won't have this problem again.
