Question about Sony Grand WEGA KF50WE610 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I have a Sony Bravia 50" 3 way rear projection tv...
The screen goes dull then back to normal, it seems to happen when the picture goes darker and when it goes brighter again the tv seems to lag when trying to restore required brightness. I fear its the bulb ready to go. I also have to put settings to full brightness to get a decent image.
Also when i use HD in 1080 i get a ghost image of the picture appearing over the original image.
Can you please help??
And how much do you estimate repairs? Could i get parts and do it myself?
I bought this tv of a guy for £200 and hoped repairs would be reasonably priced.
Any help you provide I will be gratefull for,
The dulling picture really sounds like a lamp failing. You would need the sony lamp xl-2100u
The ghost image may be easier to fix, sometimes as lcds age you will get a slight shift in a color. deep in the sony menu there is a parameter (menu-setup-imageshift) that will give you 3 levels of correction, this may solve this issue.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
