1 Answer

Hi, i have a mac G4 and an external iomega 1tb hard drive made up of 4x 250mb raid drives and an lacie 160gb d2 drive . . . i have 3 problems . . . problem 1 The iomega drive is used for my archive/back up and i have a list of folders A-Z, the 'B' folder has corrupted itself and is now a raw file, it has lost it's 'folder attributes' is possibly the best way to describe it. problem 2 & 3 i disconnected both drive last week as we were going away for the weekend and i wanted to hide it in the house in case we had a break in . . . i have now reconnected them both but they fail to boot up and appear on my desktop

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

May I offer a couple of general ideas you may want to explore:

  • are the lights/indicator lit (or even blinking) on the iomega and the LaCie? If yes, the power supply is ruled out; if blinking indicates possible electronics/hardware problem;
  • try a different cable;
  • try a different suitable port;
  • try one at a time;
  • interchange port connection (if possible);
  • were they unmounted before the physical removal;
  • you may want to reference troubleshooting methods here and/or here (if you haven't done yet).
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

It could be that your new mac has a newer operating system on it, so I think you should be using the new itego backup assistant from iomega see http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10323 this tells you what it does and you can also download it from here as well

Hope this helps

Hello,
for the product that you selected for your question, it is impossible for the LaCie Network Assistant to see it because it is a Local drive (USB).
The LaCie Network Assistant only detects the Network LaCie drives.
