Question about Sun UG-MON-FP (White) 18.1 in. Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Sun x7144A / GH19PS 19 LCD Turns off after several minutes

Works perfectly for 5 mis, then switchs off, but pressing front button makes it go a bit longer until it wont turn on.
Opened up with a 1 inch wide paint scraper, many screws, and removed a higher quality power board. Tough ******, well screwed together. Used LCR meter to check electrolitic caps in circuit and saw nothing too far out of spec. CapXon brand seem better than many. Nothing looked burnt/unusual and joints looked very good. What should I look at next?

Could it be the blue PTC's? And if so how to test?
Anyway please add this monitor to the 'list'

Ive no Idea which chip this is micon novatec nt68f63 .

Google says SAMSUNG LCD 510n and 710n have this Microcontroller and allude that it may be a processor firmware issue - and a jig and reprogramming - gee these Brazilians are good.

Usually reseating and checking Vcc on the chip is done before replacing.

I also wonder if there is some hold in the front buttons master reset

that resets to factory defaults - so fixing settings that got corrupted

My AOpen 19" LCD Flat Screen Monitor (Model F2915) is like new and works perfectly except for one thing. The push button power switch located on the top of the monitor has broken off and fallen insid

Certainly, if you jumper the connections to see which ones turn the monitor on or off, then you can go to an electrical supply place and get a micro switch and wire it in in place of the power button, or perhaps find a type that is flat that the power button can press. What you need to determine is if it is a push-on, push -off type switch, which always stays on or off depending on position or if it is a momentary interrupt switch where the button pressed momentarily turns it on and then releases and a second press connects the circuit to turn it off. You can do this by testing with your jumper wire, attach it and if the monitor stays on when you remove it, then goes off when you attach it again, you need the second type switch, if it goes off when removed, you need the always-on always -off first type switch. .

The remote control will not operate the TV when the TV is in the OFF mode (No LED lit on front bezel). To change the mode from OFF to STANDBY or ON, press the POWER button on the side of the TV. Once the POWER button is pressed, the LED will change to either red to indicate STANDBY or green to indicate ON, whichever mode the TV was in prior to being turned off with the TV POWER button.

By pressing the POWER button on the side of the TV, the mode will toggle from OFF to either STANDBY or ON. If the POWER button is pressed and then the LED on the bezel is red, the TV is in STANDBY mode and will need to be turned on using the remote control. If the POWER button is pressed and then the LED on the bezel is green, the TV is ON.
