Press the "Aspect" button on the remote until the picture looks appropriate. You are probably trying to display a 4:3 ratio channel on your 16:9 ratio TV. You are probably viewing it in "zoom" mode, which does not stretch the 4:3 ratio video, but enlarges it until it fits the width of the screen, which zooms part of the video off the top and bottom of the screen.
I would start by pressing the reset button on the front of the screen. After you are able to turn the tv on, press menu the 2470 then press enter on the remote to reset the tv. This might fix your problem. If not suspect the E2P, and if that doesn't work your DM is faulty and needs replaced.
this units processor has detected a fault and has shut it down for safety. This means it can be one of about 30 different cuircits that are at fault. this is where troubleshooting starts. technicians have special diagnostic equipment for rca that will read errors in the processor. are u a technician. there are basic voltage checks that can be performed. Warning televisions generate potenitally leathal voltages. do not remove back unless qualified.
INtermitant problems as the are called usally mean bad solder connections...the joints between electronic components. this set when it has a problem shuts down. This is safty cuircits. It could be a connector. when the set shuts down. it locks out for a period of time.. DO you have to uplug it to reset it? IS there any sounds. Without know more i would guess its high voltage.
