U-Line Wine Captain (2015WC) Wine Cooler Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jun 23, 2012

I have a U-Line 2015WCB wine cooler that stopped cooling recently. I bought and replaced the thermostat control unit and the wine cooler started up and began cooling, but after an hour or so shut off and won't come back on unless I cut the unit off for several hours, then starts and shuts down again. Any suggestions??

After installing the new thermostat I opened up the back again and noticed the fan was not working, which likely caused the unit to shut off after a while. I removed the fan, took it apart and cleaned it, reinstalled it and the wine cooler is now working perfectly.

SOURCE: U-line 15" wine cooler not cooling, but light is on.

If the light is on and no fan or compressor is running then its your thermostat that is bad. Thats the only thing that turns on those parts.

the motor could be defective or it could be low o refrigerant causing the pressure switch to not kick on the fan. Could even be wires have come loose from the fan. If the fan does not work it won't cool. however it mould most likely cosy you more to fix if you take it to a shop to have it repaired if you have the tools to test it with I can help you so let me know if you have a test meter volt ohm meter and I can tell you how to test the system.

SOURCE: I need to replace the

To replace thermostat inside of the cooler back panel needs to be removed. That gives you more room, to remove the thermostat. You have 2 screws on the bottom of the evaporator that holds the thermostat sensor in place. Then the thermostat sensor runs thru the bottom toward the back.As you remove the old one jus put the new one in the same way.The thermostat should be clamped onto the bottom of evaporator plate. --------- this will help.thanks.Helpmech.

Why does my wine cooler run too cold?

If after adjusting your thermostat to desired temp and is still cooling. The thermostat is bad or your relay is bad
If you disconnect the thermostat and the compressor stops it most likely a bad thermostat
If you disconnect the relay from
The thermostat and it stay running it is the relay. It is sticking
If possible store you wine somewhere else and shut the unit down and unplug for 10 to 20 minutes this may cause some melt of condensation some water may be on the floor if is to cold
This may also reset the system.

Ice build-up on GE ZDW24A wine cooler cooling coil

Probably the thermostat is bad , you can bypass it by putting together the two wires from the thermostat and if the unit starts working ,replace the thermostat ;only do this if you havesome knowledge of electrical work and be very carefull.

Refrigerator cooler and fan stopped

On winecaptains when I hear this its usually telling me that the thermostat is open. You will need to replace it. You can put the 2 wires together and plug the unit back in to see if this works. If it does replace the thermostat. If this is a 20 series then the control should be a #2767-1 if its a 15 or 75 wc then part #2767-S But if its a 21 then you need somthing else with the electric. Try to unplug the unit and wait 5 min then restart it if its a 21 series

U-Line no longer cooling

This sounds like the thermostat is the problem. I wouldsuggest touching the compressor at the back of the unit to see if it is hot or cold. If it is hot then you have probably have power down to the compressor, if it is cold you could (if capable) bypass the thermostat to see if it kicks in. Hope this helps.

Danby DWC283BLS Wine Cooler - Error message E3 & E4

Is the compressor running? I don't know this unit, but know that if you are too warm that is the first thing to check. In reading about another unit that had a different problem, it was mentioned that there is a ciruit board. If it has relays on it then these are the most likely culprit. They are either not making contact or staying in contact too long... sometimes just tapping each relay usually a black plastic component will cause it to work intermittently..Not sure if you can get these but call the company help line at 1-800-263-2629.
