Question about Computers & Internet

My HP DV7-1175nr is rattling. It sounds like a fan. I'm so mad because I just purchased the darn thing. Is there a fix for it or can someone tell me how to take off the bottom plate. It looks easy, but it's complicated.

Yes you can open the right side cover, but make sure take it out slowly, because some cover have Fan Connecting on the cover. it is the wire or cables that making sound it slips on the fan. so go get a rubber and tie the cables so that it will swing through the CPU Fan or board fun.... TY

Anonymous,
You may want to replace the fan. You can call the Dell Spare Parts Department at 1-877-717-3355 to purchase a fan.

Heat shield rattling noise engine

Go to a a large hardware store and buy 2 band clamps that will fit around the heat shields and clamp them tight. This is the manufacturers approved fix for heat shield rattle. The fix sure beats the $1000.00 for a new catalytic converter assembly. I have done this fix dozens of times over the years of my car repair career.

I was given a 95 chevy s10. It is old and I decided to get the fluids changed. They changed the oil and oil filter and checked everything else. Said all others looked fine. When it's cold runs...

First issue is you have to find the rattle. No way to tell off your explanation what the rattle is. It could be the fan clutch (which is bad if it lets loose at 2500 rpms), you could have a huge number of little leaks of oil from anywhere on the motor causing the smoke. Its older either find someone to fix or try and fix the issues as you find them or it will get worse.

Good luck.

My jeep is making a rattling noise in the front by the grill. What could this be? Someone said it might be my blower?

It could be something as simple as the fan blades rubbing up against the fan shroud or it could be the idler pulley bearings going bad and making a distinct rattling sound. I've seen them rattle till they break off, releasing the engine belts and stranding the vehicle. Have them checked out to see if they have bearing play, are worn and maybe need replacing.

My DS lite is broken, what should I do?

Usually if you can hear something rattle after being dropped, then the small square capacitor located on the motherboard right beside the power switch has probably come off. It is marked on the board L2. Simply resolder this capacitor and it should work fine. If the capacitor is broken a new on can be purchased on ebay for less than $10.00. Simply look for key words "DS Lite L2" they also have pictures on the auctions further showing you where it is located

I bought HP Pavilion dv5 6 months ago and fan not working

Your cooling fan sounds to have went out, causing it to overheat and shut down.It also could be something in the fan stopping it from turning.Try cleaning it or blowing it out with it off.But it mostly sounds to have went out.

Kitchenaid convection oven fan rattles/noisey

Sometimes the fan blade mounting nut gets loose. Remove the cover from the fan and see if the blade wobbles. If so,tighten the nut on the fan motor.

Fridge model c373 is rattling. Has been repaired twice to no avail.Sounds like bottles rattling but have removed all items from fridge. Was sent away for repair and when given back had a rattle.

there are two things that come to mind from what you are describing one is the evaporator fan is mialignet and hitting its caseing in the freezer or the condenser fan behind the unit where the compressor is is doing the same thing pull the unit out and check it first as its metal and would give a closer sound as your describing
