Question about 2wire HomePortal 100W (1000-400026-000) Wireless Router
The 2 wire Home Portal 100w is a Modem/Router combination with wireless. But it has only one LAN port. So I understand that you are trying to use a DAX router for extending the number or ports. The reason they may not communicate if 2wire LAN is connected to DAX WAN is both may have same IP address. If the router has similar IP on WAN and LAN, it will not communicate. For that changing DAX router's LAN IP will be a solution or you can do LAN to LAN cascading. Connect 2Wire LAN to DAX LAN and dont use the WAN port. This way you dont have to change anything in the configuration

With the two wire home portals, you will have to contact your service provider for dsl/fiber to give you the password, you generally will need to provide them with a few different forms of ID, such as your account number, last four of your social security etc...
