Click start
then programs
then accessories
then system tools
then disc fragmentation then click defragment this may take a while to complete when finished restart computer then do a windows update
by clicking start then select windows update and follow prompts
if you do both these things once a week it will keep your computer running better in general

Hello,

This symptom is causes by some malicious software which are accidentally installed into the computer. you have to try scanning your computer by a potent antivirus will resolve the issue if this not infected well.

another is hardware fault issue. which maybe the harddrive performing very slow that has a factory defect. if the the laptop still have a warranty then you should consult first the vendor before attempting to fix the issue.

if what ever kindly notify me for further solution if ever.

may this an initial help.

Need help on my computer hardware problem. I am

You are correct to a point. The lower memory is an issue but the main issue is your desktop is so much older so the processing power of the desktop isn't nearly the same of your laptop so it is going to run slower.

Tip

Computer or laptop turn off automatically after sometimes

this reason comes due to over heat of processor.
solution-
1. check the heat sink fan is running or not
2. chech is there paste between heatsink and processor.
after solving these problem if your problem exists.
then it may be due to slowly of the fan speed and the heat sink goes over heat.
so, open the stiker over fan then put 1 or 2 drops of oil in the hole. then run your fan by manually your hands if the fan goes ok then re install it.
now your problem is finished.

I am looking to set up an old computer with new memory and hard drive. I have windows vista from my laptop computer can I install this into my newly updated computer and how.

Generally, the licensed software for your laptop is tied to that machine/brand. If you bought a copy of vista and installed it on the laptop, you may be able to install vista on three machines if that is the version you bought.
Most Microsoft programs are locked to one machine and won't activate on another system.
Now, if this is an old, slow (less than 1 Ghz) with less than 2 gigs, it probably will run Vista very slowly if you get it installed. I'd use the OS that was on the old machine instead of trying to install Vista.

Hi, Dell Studio 1535 cooler always starts, even if the system is not warm up. Plus mouse and keyboard work slowly. shut down computer, wait (2h.), but still the same. Checks the system load and temperature...

Hi,
Try running the diagnostics on the computer to check if all the hardware is working fine. The diagnostics would take atleast 2 hrs to complete but would do a through check for the same. I have come accross the same issue on the said laptop and we have ended up replacing the system fan for the same.

To run the diagontics
1. Shut down the system
2. Press and hold the FN key on the keyboard and press the power button to start the system
3. Follow the screen prompts to run the diagnostics.

Note and post back any error codes if any

Thanks for using fixya

I have sys which contain main board marrcury(p1865d7).now i will run visual studio2008 but not properly run so plz give suggetion @ processor & ram

According to Microsoft: Minimum: 1.6 GHz CPU, 384 MB RAM, 1024x768 display, 5400 RPM hard disk Recommended: 2.2 GHz or higher CPU, 1024 MB or more RAM, 1280x1024 display, 7200 RPM or higher hard disk
I know that Visual Studio 2008 runs fairly slowly on a 2.4GHz laptop with 1GB RAM, so I can't imagine that it would run all that well on a 1.6GHz machine.

Running slow - want to restore factory settings

In some cases, when the laptop first starts booting you'll see an option something like 'Press F11 for system restore'. If your laptop doesn't show this option on boot, the only way to reinstall the operating system is with the installation disks. Alternatively, you could scan your computer for viruses, run a disk defragmentation by opening up the 'My Computer' icon, right clicking on your storage drive and selecting 'Properties'. Once in the properties menu select the 'Tools' tab at the top and run the disk defragmentor. If it doesn't run properly, run the 'Error Checking' utility from the same menu.
Also be sure that your hard drive isn't completely full, as Microsoft operating systems use a part of your free space as paging memory.

Computer runs too slowly and ''grinds''

Depending on the situation, It could be you need more ram. If your running Windows Vista, 2-3 years old computers are probably coming with about 512mb-2 gb's or ram. In which case grab at least 3 gb's or ram and you'll be ok. If it's an xp system. grab at least 1gb or ram. Internet delay though could possibly be due to your ISP or perhaps a virus/spyware. There are certain viruses and spyware that slow down internet connection while leaving your pc running fast.

Computer running very slowly

this is likely due to the problems caused by the damages to system files.

the damages may be caused by the virus or other problems.

I suggest you first run the virus scan and see the result.

If there is no positive results at all, you better send the notebook to the repair shop.

Tell me, for any changes.

Cheers.....................
