Question about Pioneer Lifeplus NS-33 Shelf System

1 Answer

After Power When I start the unit, either with the remote or the unit button, the display lights on. Then, a second after, the unit shuts down as if I pressed the "turn off" button. I tried to unlpug and replug all the wires. It does it evan with only the power supply cable and the "unit to suwoofer" cable plugged. I also tried another power supply cable (it is a standard one but without success. It seems like there is a power problem. Please help because I think that if I bring it to a repair center, I will wait for weeks and pay a lot. And I love this shelf system, it looks beautiful. Thanks Paul

are you sure it's not going into demo mode after you turn it off? Is there just lights and display flashing? - that is demo mode. Probably a button on the remote to turn it off.

RTFM: Page 13:

"A demonstration of the display is shown if you have not set the
clock. You can reduce the power consumed in standby mode by turning the demonstration off.
While the unit is on:
Press and hold [–DEMO] until “NO DEMO” is
Each time you press and hold the button:
NO DEMO (off) DEMO (on)

This is a 24-hour clock.
The example shows how to set the clock for 16:25 (4:25 p.m.).
1 Press [0/I] to turn the unit on.
Press [CLOCK/TIMER] to display “CLOCK”.
Each time you press the button:
CLOCK>>PLAY>>REC>>Original display
Within 5 seconds
Press [SET].
Press [TUNING (Up or Down)] to set the time.
The time display can be changed in one minute units by tapping
the buttons, and quickly by holding down the buttons.
Press [SET].
The time is set and the original display is restored."

Or under Troubleshooting Page 38:

"The display starts up even after the unit is turned off.

The demonstration feature (–DEMO) is on. Turn it off if it is not required."

If you need the manual go to
register and get it for free.

Lights flash on the unit at night making it hard to sleep!

The power button does nothing in relation to this!!! Press the x-bass/demo button at the bottom of the remote. That should fix the blinking lights! :)

How to play CD on Aiwa NSX-3500 (part of CX-N3500U) w/o remote control?

I thought that I had the same problem. I then discovered that when I put 3 CD's in it started up on it's own. If you push the demo button you can see how it's supposed to light up the number of tracks in a square on the right of the display. It wasn't doing that until I put in all 3. Then it started up and I was able to use the disc 1, 2 & 3 buttons to change from 1 CD to the next and I used the Up and Down buttons to change songs and the play button above the tape deck is multi-functional. Hope this helps.

Protection displayed and shuts off

The protect message indicates that the output amp section has a problem. Normally this requires the replacement of the output transistors or the output amp pac. Expect the repair cost to be about $20-$60 for parts plus the local labor rate.

Turn the system on and press the "Clock/Timer" button (located above the eject button for Deck 1). The clock will appear. To change the time, simply hold down either the < or > buttons (the ones you use to change radio stations and begin CD/tape playback). Press "Clock/Timer" again to lock in the time.
