If you mean the key fob, it may need to be re-calibrated to the truck.
Check your owners manual or call the dealer parts dept.
Most models use the driver's door lock to sync the fob and the vehicle.

SOURCE: program my remote

Program your factory keyless entry functions
For 2001+ Tacomas equipped with a factory alarm or keyless entrymag-glass_10x10.gif, here are some programming options that allow you to adjust the way your locks work.
The first programming option allows you to set the entry unlock to: (A) unlock the driver door with one push, and the remaining doors with a second push OR (B) unlock all of the doors with a single push.

  • Open the driver's door. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  • (Complete these steps within 40 seconds)
    1. Insert the key into and remove it from the ignition switch 2 times.
      (IN - OUT - IN - OUT)
    2. Close, then open the driver's door 2 times.
      (SHUT - OPEN - SHUT - OPEN)
    3. Insert the key into and remove it from the ignition switch 1 time.
      (IN - OUT)
    4. Close, then open the driver's door 2 times.
      (SHUT - OPEN - SHUT - OPEN)
    5. Insert the key into the ignition switch and leave it in.
    6. Close the driver's door.
    7. Turn the key from LOCK to ON 4 times, ending at LOCK
      (LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK - ON - LOCK)
    8. Wait for the locks to stop, then remove the key from the ignition switch.
  • On the key fob, press and release both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time.
    1. [For all doors unlock] press and release the UNLOCK button.
    2. [For driver door unlock] press and release the LOCK button.
  • Open the driver's door. The programming is complete. If programming did not occur, start over.

SOME OF THE REMOTES REQUIRE THAT THE KEY BE IN THE IGNITION, IN THE ON POSITION. TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AND WAIT 10 MINUTES. THEN PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND INSTALL THE BATTERY WHILE THE KEY IS TURNED TO THE ON POSITION. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

SOURCE: After disconnecting the battery and then

If after unlocking the driver door with the key and still no luck, put the key in the ignition and turn forward to start (if it won't start turn forward anyway) then push you're red reset button on the dash. That should do it.

Where is iat sensor on 2006 toyota tacoma 4.ol 4door located ?

This is the 2001-2012 Toyota Tacoma wiring diagram, Toyota Tacoma IAT (Intake Air Temperature) Sensor Location and the Toyota Tacoma MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor Location, also included is a pinout of the sensor. You are likely installing a performance chip or a cold air intake kit for increased HP (Horsepower). You will want to be sure to disconnect the car battery before adding performance products.

Here is the Toyota Tacoma's Iat sensor diagram:

What can I do to restart the alarm

When I had a new battery installed in my ford f150 years ago with an alarm I had to cycle my ignition switch 3 times within seconds of ttaching the battery cables... connect the positive then when you connect the negative have someone inside the car to cycle your key on and off 3 times. not all the way to start but to off/accessory/off/accessory/off/accessory then try to start... hope that does it.

My 2001 toyota Tacoma won't start. I was cleaning

Try putting the key in the driver door lock and turning from lock to unlock. That should dissable the factory alarm system. You may have to do it a few times before it works.

Just changed my battery in Toyota Tacoma 2003. Didn't realize it had alarm under the hood only, not connected to doors, etc. Dealer informed me on how to turn the alarm off. But still interior lights...

Try turning the key in the driver side dorr after you hook the battery back up.I had a Nissan Maxima with the same problem and that did the trick. Its worth a try.

I lost my remote entry key for 2001 Toyata Tacoma.

your tacoma keys were specially coded for that very truck you are driving and the code on the key communicates with your ecm brain computer. either a dealer or a licensed stereo alarm shop can remedy this for you.
