If this is an electronic control, you will probally need to replace the temp sensor or thermistor. It is a part that plugs into the temp control panel and runs to a spot on the water manifold and has a tube that slides into it. You can't calabrate these but if they are bad they will run very hot on the desplay while the water is cool. Hope this helps.

Spa has not been on for a year and now heater will not stay on. What's wrong?

Make sure there is water flow thru the heater when it is turned on. If there is low water flow, the heater will shut down.

If there is adequate water flow, then check your pressure sensor and insure it is engaging when there is water flow. If not, replace it.

If these do not resolve your problem, then check your thermostat.

Hope this helps,

Depending on which control system your Colman has:
Try these:
Press & Hold the JET Button for 6 seconds (Most/Gecko & Hydro-Quip)
Hold temperature UP & DOWN together for 6 seconds.
Balboa 7 button controls, both buttons to the left of the display screen & down temperature.
One of the buttons might be stuck in the down position.

Spa thermal overheating

Turn off all power to the hot tub as soon as you realize it is overheating. The spa should have an automatic shut off when the water temperature reaches about 112 degrees fahrenheit. Call your hot tub dealer or manufacturer for service options. There are a variety of conditions that could lead to the overheating of your hot tub, but may differ in various hot tub models and brands. Check the water level of the hot tub. Low water levels could be the culprit for the over heating, so you may just need to add more water to the hot tub.
Check the shut-off valves in the hot tub. If they are closed while the hot tub heater is on, it could cause the water to reach unsafe temperatures.
Clean the hot tub filter. A dirty filter could be blocking the flow of water, causing the water to sit in the hot tub and overheat.
Turn the power back on after finding the problem and talking to the hot tub dealer. The hot tub will probably not start back up until the water reaches a safe temperature

Hydroquip heater will not come on & heater indicator light is also out

I would start by checking/replacing the Hi Limit.
When that switch goes bad, it usually shuts down any spa or heater.

Hydro-Quip pack in my Hydro-Spa hot tub no heat.

3 Flashing dots (display) - Water flow problem check for closed valves, dirty filters, water level, pump/wet end operation/defective pressure switch.
If your spa has been off for a while its likely something is blocking the lines.
Flashing dots & Lit light on display - Hi-limit trip, reset power to clear.

Hi, my Hydroquip powered spa is running continuously but not heating up to the proper temp. All 3 small lights are blinking continuously. I havn't been able to find any trouble shooting info. Thanks for...

Check for power at the wire terminals. If you have power then you probably have a bad element and will need to replace it. If not your temp sensor has probably gone bad.

The unit goes out on high limit tripped and needs to be reset but keeps going out on high limit tripped.

Hi Limits are a safety device, your only option is to replace bad hi limit with a new one. Do not try and repair or adjust a faulty one.
They are fairly in expensive just be sure to replace one with the correct bulb or probe length and diameter.
