I ran a driver scan on my ACER Power2000 and the results said one of my drivers was out of date. (Unfortunately I didn't note which one it was, except that it was an Intel.) So I downloaded and installed the updated driver. When I was done, I was told I had to reboot, which I did. But all that comes back up is a small dialog box in the middle of a black screen that says: "Out of range signal. Cannot display this video mode. Change computer display input to 1680x1050@60Hz." I have no idea what to do, especially since I cannot even get into the computer at this point.

When does this dialog box come up, at what point in the boot process?
You may/should be able to go into safe mode and uninstall the driver.
    Then, don't reinstall it!

Hey

Ok, the resolution the computer is using now is out of the range that is supported, try another monitor or try pressing F8 on the startup to get the advanced startup menu then select safe mode, in safe mode uninstall the driver you installed, this should return it to normal, then restart the computer and in normal mode you will need to install the old driver to get everything back to normal.

Black screen on acer aspire 5560 series will not load

Fix 1: Power reset your laptop
Power resetting does a trick to fix the Acer black screen issue and it works for many people. Here's how to do it:
1.Turn off your laptop.
2.Remove the AC adapter cable, hard drives, the battery and any other attached peripheral devices.
3.Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds and release. Your laptop will boot up and turn off during this time period.
4.Put your battery back in and plug the charger. Then don't plug anything else.
5.Press the Power button as normal to turn on your laptop.
Your laptop should start normally now.
If this method works for you, you should update your device drivers to the latest version to prevent similar problems from happening again.
If the laptop screen is black, don't worry. There are other solutions.
Fix 2: Try F2, F9, and F10 key
If you find yous Acer laptop screen is black, you can try this:
1.Ensure to turn off your laptop, and unplug any external devices.
2.Press the Power button to turn on your laptop.
3.When you see the Acer logo or splash screen appears, press F2, F9, F10, and Enter key on your keyboard.
4.Select Exit > Yes, and press Enter.
Your laptop will start and the black screen issue should be resolved.
Fix 3: Update graphics card driver
The missing or outdated graphics card driver in your laptop can cause the black screen, so you should verify that the graphics drivers in your laptop are up to date, and update those that aren't.
Note: You'll need to log into your computer to perform these method. If you can't log into your computer, boot your laptop into Safe Modewith network, then follow the instructions below.
You can manually search for the latest version of your graphics driver from the manufacturer, and download and install it in your computer. This requires time and computer skills. We recommend this if you're confident with your computer skills.
If you don't have time or patience, you can do it automatically with Driver Easy.
Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it.You don't need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don't need to risk downloading and installing the wrong driver, and you don't need to worry about making mistake when installing.
1.Downloadand install Driver Easy.
2.Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.
3.Click the Update button next to the flagged graphics device to automatically download the correct version of the driver (you can do this with the FREE version), then install the driver in your computer.
Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system (this requires the Pro version - you'll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).

4.After updating, restart your computer to take effect.
Check and see if your laptop screen works properly.
Fix 4: Check for virus and malware
Note: You'll need to log into your computer to perform these method. If you can't log into your computer, boot your laptop into Safe Mode with network, then follow the instructions below.
Your Acer laptop screen may be black if your system has been damaged by virus or malware.
So run a virus scan across your entire Windows system. Yes, it may take some time to complete, but it's worth it. Unfortunately, Windows Defender may not detect it, so it's worth trying another antivirus program such as Avira and panda.
It any malware has been detected, follow the instructions provided by the antivirus program to fix it.
Then restart your computer as normal and see if it fixes your black screen issue.
Fix 5: Update BIOS
BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System. It's a software that is stored on a small memory chip in the Motherboard of your computer. BIOS is used to identify and troubleshoot the hardware issue in your computer or laptop.
To update your BIOS, go to Acer support page, find the BIOS file for your Acer laptop model. Download it into your USB drive, and follow the instructions provided by Acer to update BIOS.

Acer aspire wont recognise cd roms but plays dvds

Have you checked your CD roms? Maybe they are already defective. Try running them in a CD player to see if they run smoothly.
Sometimes, the onboard driver update mechanism isn't that consistent with its result. I suggest that you use RadarSync to scan your computer to see if your drivers are updated.
RadarSync is a specialized PC Driver Update Software. You can scan your computer using the free version but if you want it to update the drivers then you can buy a year or two years subscription of the software to keep your drivers updated.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I want to restore my acer desktop computer

Unfortunately, these do not come with an OS Disc. I had to do the same thing. Please visit the following Acer website to order the disc.

NOTE: you will need to revisit this site after you have installed the OS to download drivers that are not included in the OS disc. These drivers are seperate from the OS: They include: sound card driver, empowering technology WiFi driver, and possibly USB an Ethernet port drivers.

I cant find the driver to make the dvdplayer to work, where can i find it ?

your laptop should find the driver automatically.
Ensure you are connected to the internet when you proceed to install the driver and select find driver automatically, this may take some time but be patience and it should install.
If this fails then make sure the laptop is fully up to date with Windows updates and try again.

I'm unable to get my Acer laptop Orbicam to start. Microsoft gives me a message to update the driver. I purchased driver detective to attempt this, but it's scan says that the driver is upto date. I tried...

right click on my computer and go to properties then hardware in that click on device manger and check there is any other device is listed if it is there just remove it and click for scan for hardware changes when he prompt for driver just click on next and choose automatically update.
To test camera you can choose the option of Scanners and Cameras wizard in control panel. There you will see the camera just click it will on then you will be able to shoot the picture and video.
