Question about Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SBT Top Load Washer

Washer stops constantly with an F1 Code during rinse cycles.

Hi FixYa,
I have a Whirlpool Washer, Model #WTW 6300 SG1, Serial
#CT3970259 which is similar to the Cabrio (6600) but has an agitator.
It stops during the rinse cycle with a Code F1, which seems to be a common problem. I have to push the Pause/Cancel button and then push the Start button several times before the rinse will continue.
Several times I have lifted the lid and added about a gallon of water which seems to decrease the number of times I have had to repeat the button-pushing procedure.
Is there a way to bypass some electrical connection(s) on the control board to allow the rinse cycle to continue without interruptions?
I have opened the panel and checked for loose connections. I would appreciate any helpful information to correct the problem.
Many thanks, Richard Asami

    Hi FixYa,
The hoses are gently looped via gravity and are not kinked in any way.
I was wondering if there were any recalls or factory service bulletins covering this seemingly common shutdown during the rinse cycle. Please help.
    Thank you, Richard Asami

F1 usually means a communication or an electrical error.

Unpgug the machine for 1 minute and then power back up. If fault reoccurrs check all connectors.

How long have you had this machine? Has it always been plugged into the same outlet? Is is sharing an outlets with another device?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, the error code "F1" would indicate EEPROM Communications error. Simply stated this refers to the built-in controller/logic board is not getting the expected signals triggers from its sensors. While this could indicate a hardware fault such as lid switch, water level switch, or the others it is more often a firmware/software glitch. The repetitive appearance indicates that the firmware is in need of a re-flash. This is akin to re-installing the Operating System of a controller. In most instances, it would be easier to have the controller/logic board replaced.

First order of diagnosis would call for checking all the hardware/sensors/triggers to eliminate the possibility that it is a hardware fault. Whne none could be established as faulty, then conclusion would be the controller/logic board.

This page would show an exploded parts diagram to identify and locate the parts. A continuity tester (DVM or VOM) would serve the purpose of checking.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

The F1 code means the control detects an out of range pressure signal

check pressure connection from tub to machine motor control to see if hose is pinched or kinked.

if its not replace the machine motor control.

that is the only fix

Thanks for using fixya

The following list of codes indicates a possible electronics communication problem with the washer:

    Cabrio washer - F1, F2, F40, F41, F42, F50, F51, F52, F53, F54, F72

To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel twice.

    PLACEHOLDER FOR ART

    If Pause/Cancel does not work:

    1. Unplug washer or disconnect power for one minute.

    2. Plug in washer or reconnect power.

    3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.

NOTE: If the error remains on the display, call for service.

How do I fix my washer that only says 'sud' constantly and won't work at all? Whenever I try to start a cycle nothing happens. Whenever I push a button nothing happens. Please Help.

http://whirlpool.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2948
Hi please go to this above link, it is all explained at length what is going on and what to do.

This error code indicates that excessive detergent suds occurred during the cycle.
If a "Sud" or "Sd" error code is displayed, or if you can see excessive suds in the window:
There are too many suds in the washing machine. The washer will not be able to spin out water with the excess suds. When "Sud" or "Sd" is displayed, the washer automatically extends the rinse time to remove the excess suds. During this time, the washer pauses the tumbling and adds water for additional rinsing. This pause allows the bubbles in the suds to break. This pause and rinsing are necessary and may occur several times to eliminate the suds. See the animation below for more information.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" with the Rinse status light on, the washer is in the process of removing suds. Let the cycle continue.
  • If you see "Sud" or "Sd" and the Cycle Complete light is on, the washer detected too many suds during the cycle and your load may not be fully rinsed or water may not be fully removed. You may want to select a Rinse/Spin cycle for further rinsing.

Whirlpool Duet washer, during the wash cycle, get H F error code

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error code F/H means no water was detected entering machine or Pressure switch trip not detected. If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine and then valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed. It can also happen if the control has turned the water valves on and after 8 minutes the flow meter has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off and the error code will flash. You’ll need to Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Our Cabrio Washer shows a F1 code during operation? Can yo help us with this problem? John & Kathy

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F1 means primary control failure and to resolve this you’ll have to replace the machine control assembly. To remove and replace the control you’ll have to unplug the washer and then remove
three screws from the rear of the console assembly. Pull console towards front of washer to hinge open and/or remove console. Then remove the one screw holding the machine/motor control assembly to the console tray and two plastic legs on the rear of the machine/motor control assembly that fit into the console tray. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.

Kenmore Elite Oasis HE F1 Error

Im sorry to tell you but you have a bad control board. This was a faulty board from the factory. There is a class action lawsuit agianst whirlpool (whirlpool made the oasis). Try calling to get whirlpool to fix it. Maybe try joining the lawsuit. They have remanufactured the part so the new one wont do that again. Its a great machine when it works right.
