You might try turnin yer PC off & unplug. Then open the case & carefully remove the battery. Let sit for 5 min. Re-install the battery & put it back together. Plug in & turn on. IF you get a screen givin you the option "last known good configuration" take it

NO DISPLAY on screen but processor fan is work

If it seems like the computer booted up all the way except the screen is blank.

If so try connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok and works, then the video card inside the computer is good, but the original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does not work, then the video card inside the computer is bad.

If it does not seem like the computer booted up all the way try the steps below.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the computer?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear the DvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for a second or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, but the screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with the computer and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issue when you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problem is with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and take note of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoever when you press the power button.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, then Press and Hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in and hit the power button to see if it boots.

Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of the memory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Maybe your power supply is bad. Sometimes there is enough power to make the power light or some other lights come on but not enough power to make the fan turn on or hard drive spin.

Dell inspiron 530 desktop won't boot, fan is running, no signal on monitor

It sounds like either your monitor or video card inside the computer is bad.

If the monitor is showing the "No Input Signal" message then the video card inside the computer is bad. The monitor is ok otherwise it would not be able to display the No Input Signal message.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of the power cord?

I'm having problems with my compaq sr5000 desktop.

Is there any message that appears when you turn the computer on? Does anything post to the monitor during the boot process? Normally if the Video Card goes bad and the monitor works you will get a No Signal message on the Monitor. So you are so sure the monitor works, huh?

Since you went inside the computer check and make sure you pushed the Video Card (where the monitor plugs into the back of the computer) into the slot all the way.

Maybe your Power Supply is not working. When you press the power button do the fans start running and you hear the disk drive spinning? Just because you see a light at the the power button or on the motherboard does not mean the Power Supply is working correctly. I just changed one that did that.

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting. You didn't by chance remove the Heat Sink and CPU while you were removing the fan did you? If you did, you probably need to apply a fresh coat of Thermal Past between the Heat Sink and CPU.

Acer x3400 wont start up

Remove the Power Cord and then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in and press the power button. If it reboots you had a Static Charge Buildup and released it by holding the power button for 30 seconds.

When you press the power button do you hear the fan running, disk drives running, cd drive clicks once, anything on the lcd screen? If not I would think your Power Supply is bad and needs to be replaced.

It's either the Power Supply or Motherboard.

My emachine T1742 desktop will not turn on. When plugged in the power supply's fan turns on, cpu fan doesnt start, both hdd/power led's flicker and pressing power button doesnt power on/off system.

Disconnect all the devices from the computer(tower) including keyboard, mouse, monitor(everything)..even the power cable

Now keep on holding down the power button on the computer tower for 15-30 seconds..

Now release the power button, plug in the power cable, monitor, keyboard, mouse and turn on the computer...

If it works, great!!!

Otherwise, take it for repair..

Computer won't start up

sounds like the cpu is dead, if your fan was full of dust theres a high chance it wasnt working properly for a while which would of caused the cpu to fry from lack of proper cooling and also the dust in the vents would have prevented heat from escapeing so its highly probable that the cpu is dead try replaceing it, i cannot gaurentee that anything else internally got fried from the heat tho, i had a similar problem a week ago
