Question about TruTech PVS12701 Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

DVD plays until in the middle and stops

Given to me as a gift. The problem above has been present since I received it. Is there anything I can do do repair the problem other than taking it somewhere for repairs. I have not tried it since the first time and the problem is unchanged.

seems like the battery doesn't hold a chare long enough for a movie

  • qreyes75 Mar 23, 2009

It plays for 5 minutes then it freezes, and I try to push play or fast forward or push every button but it doesn't do anything. The picture is still there but it's not moving and there's no sound. it's not the battery because it's plugged in the outlet, what's causing this to freeze?

Hi i have moved to australia and need to change my samsung ht-bd2e to region free can you help pelase?

Hello

1. Ensure that there is no disk in the tray.

2. Switch the player off and then back on. This is necessary to clean-boot the firmware.

3. Wait until the main menu page appears and the player stops doing anything.

4. Press the eject button to open the tray. (The button is between the "Power" and "TV Power" buttons at the top of the controller.)

5. Press the eject button to close the tray.

6. Wait while the player searches for a disk.

7. As soon as the "No Disk" message appears at the top left corner do the following.

8. Press the REPEAT button - just above the TV channel selector at the bottom right of the controller.

9. Enter your former region code (Where you bought the player) from the list given below on the number pad.

10. The region code should appear at the top left corner of the screen.

11. Enter a "9" to make the player region free. (Enter a region code if you want to lock the player to another region for some obscure or perverse reason.)

12. Power down and power up again.

13. Play a foreign DVD to verify the change.

you must start entering the code just after the "No Disk" message is shown and before the message disappears. If you miss a number it won't work

Secondly, the REPEAT key is part of the code. All six keys must be entered smoothly as "REPEAT Region code". The entry gets timed out so you can't stop in the middle and restart. Don't bash away like crazy, just do it smoothly and briskly.

If you don't see the "Region number" the first time, don't worry. Just repeat the process. It may take about a dozen tries before you get it to work.

The following are the various region codes.

Region 1 (US, Canada) - 29334

Region 2 (Europe, Middle East, Japan) - 38767

Region 3 (South East Asia, Hong Kong) - 56732

Region 4 (South America, Oceania) - 76884

Region 5 (Russia, India) - 53814

Region 6 (China) - 24462

Don't know if it will work on your. I have a jWin JD-VD141 and the code works. Have the DVD tray open (means ejected) then press 9735. A menu will pop up and choose Regions 0 then exit. You DVD player should play DVD from all regions.

Plays blu ray will not play dvd

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/BDPS350_US.pdf

Above is the us version of your manual.
I suggest you look at the dvd/bd settings on page 46.
Check the manual for the discs you cannot play.
Check that the region code of your dvd matches the one on the disc..

If you want to mail it and must have a receipt
1.Find out the way they paid for your gift,if its with cards, they will have a record on paper or the internet of the spend.
2.Also check with the shop if you can prove that it was bought there, and they may issue you a copy receipt.

My Sony DVP-NS57P dvd-cd player stopped playing dvds (haven't tried playing a CD). It displays ''Cannot play this disc''. When it first did this, I unplugged it and cleaned the disc and then it played but...

The messagin indicates that the unit recognizes the a DVD is present. Since it goes that far, it suggests that the information read from the disc is wrong. A dirty lens can cause this. Use a cotton swab as Welcomjee suggested dampened with alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem but a CD will play, then the optics are failing and need to be replaced.

Given the cost of replacement optics for your unit, if the optics are bad, replace the unit.

Dvd stopped playing in the middle of a movie...

I work for Coby technical support. Our customer service phone number is 1-800-727-3592.

Unfortunately, if the player will no longer read any commercial dvd that you attempt to play, the unit is defective and needs to be replaced. Hopefully, since it's brand new, you still have the receipt and can return it to the retailer for an exchange or refund. The unit has a 90 day warranty from the date of purchase. You would need the receipt in order to receive a warranty exchange.

If you feel this solution doesn't deserve a good rating, please let me know why so that I may better assist you. If there is anything more I can do to help, I will!

Thanks for using FixYa.

If the unit is showing "invalid disk" on every disk that you try to play, unfortunately, the unit has developed a defect and needs to be replaced. It can not be repaired. Our warranty is 90 days from the date of purchase. If you received the unit as a Xmas present, please call the number above for instructions on getting the unit exchanged.

Hd dvd player

Hey odowa,

If you purchased an HD-DVD player from your local Best Buy™ store or through the www.Bestbuy.com website before February 28, 2008, you may be eligible to receive a $50.00 Best Buy™ gift card.

Many of our customers should have already received notification of this offer and their gift cards, but if you have not yet received anything in the mail I would strongly suggest contacting us directly for further assistance. You can reach a Consumer Relations agent by calling our toll-free hotline at 888-Best-Buy (888-237-8289), and requesting to speak with an agent regarding a store policy question.

Please keep in mind however, that not all DVD players are eligible for this offer. Combination HD-DVD/Blu-ray players, computers with HD-DVD ROM drives, and upconvert DVD players do not qualify as eligible products at this time.

I would also suggest making sure that you have the receipt or order confirmation page from your purchase handy when you contact Consumer Relations, as your order number or Customer Service PIN number will be necessary to ensure that you qualify.
Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

Dratted Coby TF-DVD7100 Portable DVD player not working!

Its defective. Coby doesn't repair the units. The lense is off balance which is causing the laser to not read the dvd/cd.

Player suddenly freezes

Try running a dvd cleaner through it first, before trying anything else (the type that looks like a DVD with a brush underneath).

The regular DVD might have been a fluke (scratches, rental?, burned dvd?)

Was there anything special about the new Blu-Ray Disc - what was the tile? On certain titles, you may need the firmware upgrade found at:
