Acer Aspire 9300 Keyboard replacement

How do I remove the keyboard from the laptop? I have to check under it to see if my daughter spilled anything on it. I have basically taken every screw out of it and I can now see the frame lifting off, but I don't want to unhook any of the cables until I know I can get them back onto the motherboard.

The thin plactic strip where the power button is come's out and should see 3 spots where a flat head screw driver will fit and help lift it out. once thats out there should be 3 or 4 small screws to remove the keyboard. you should not have to remove and screws from the bottom of the laptop to remove the keyboard

There's a need for you to bring your netbook to a service center to check for any possible hardware problem. Usual cleaning should be able to resolve this issue but if not it requires a local service center to ran further check on your netbook.

Acer Aspire 5602WLMI water in keyboard

Here is a great deal on a replacement keyboard:
http://www.sunvalleyus.com/AcerKeyboard/Acer-5601AWLMi-5602WLMi.html
To replace it, first of all, remove the power connector and the battery before you do anything on that laptop.

remove the 3 screws in the middle cover. remove that middle cover by putting a screwdriver in one of those holes which are covering the displaybrackets. pull it up slowly. same thing goes for the opposite side.

remove the 2 screws which are holding the keyboard and the cable to the mainboard.
Reassembly is the reverse of dissasembly, be careful with the ribbon cable as its fragile, and there is a little plastic piece that either pulls up or pulls out that releases the cable.
One of the easiest repairs to a laptop there is.

you have a locked key. it may be anything from a liquid spill to forced. but that noise is telling you that a key is locked. try removing the keyboard and plugging in a usb keyboard. if you dont get a noise then you need to replace your existing keyboard or unjam the key causing the problem

Acer Aspire 5610 - one key does not work

Laptop keyboard are semi-sealed circuit boards. This means that liquid can get into the contacts and can not be cleaned. Depending on how much liquid was spilled on the keyboard chances are that the liquid has seeped around the edges of the keyboard and down onto the mainboard of the laptop. My first suggestion would be to keep the laptop turned off until you can remove the keyboard and check for liquid damage to the mainboard. If there is no damage to the mainboard I would suggest buying a new keyboard before turning the computer back on as any shorts caused by the liquid damage on the keyboard can cause damage to the keyboard controller circuit on the mainboard.
