Question about NCR 7875
I just purchased a used 7875 Scanner/Scale. I need a RS 232 Interface to work with my regular Windows XP desktop, where I run Cash Register Express. As it did'nt come with a cable I used my old Metrologic Serial interface cable. Im having trouble comunicating with the PC. When I run Diagnostics with the NCR Opus Driver is states Fatal error Timed out. I set the protocol to RS 232 on the scanner and made sure the parity and bit match Scanner/Desktop. Can anybody tell me what might be wrong? Can it be that the cable is incorrect? Does anybody have a Part Number for the correct cable or how the pinout schould be? I've contacted NCR and they insist in sending out for a service call, which I would like to prevent. I can't get them to tell me what cable to use, nor what to look out for
Any help or suggestions would will be greatly appreciated.
Was it a cable issue? I am having the exact same problem and think it could be a cable issue? Do you still have the part number to the cable?
