Re: TV cuts off while watching any channel and after some...

When your TV cuts off, does just the video cut off or do you lose all power? Does the power light stay on? If the power light goes out, I would suspect a bad solder connection in the power supply, or maybe a defective capacitor or two in the regulation circuits. If just the video is going to black screen, it could be your picture tube getting weak and the cathode current monitoring circuit is kicking in preventing you from seeing a sub-par picture. Sometimes this can be temporarily adjusted out by a very small amount of tweaking of the screen control located on the CRT drive board, but it is easy to get a shock and hurt yourself if you're not familar with the set. The CRT can sometimes be restored for a bit more life with a CRT tester/rejuvinator that the service Tech has access to if that is what is causing your symptoms.

My tv is locked i cant push anything to cut it on it is on but there is a key on the screen and i do not have the remote control what do i do.

To unlock your TV you must need the original remote of it. If you don't have then you have to purchase it. After the do the following for unlock you TV

Apex TVs have parental locks that allow you to block certain programs based on their rating. When this feature is no longer needed and you want your TV to display all programming no matter its rating, you must unlock your TV. Unlocking your Apex TV is done completely from your remote control and does not require any tools. The process takes less than 5 minutes.

1. Press the "Menu" button on the remote control and use the arrow buttons to scroll down to the "Parental Guide" option, then press the "Enter" button.

2. Type in the default parental code "6688" if you have not set your own code. If you have set your own code, type it in. If you set your own code and forgot it, override it by using "6688."

3. Use the arrow keys to switch the parental lock to "OFF." This allows all programs to be viewed no matter the rating. Press the "Exit" button on the remote and start watching all your channels

Rca model f36649 s-video hookup to laptop computer When I hookup s--video cable to tv & HP Pavillion dv9000. I get nothing on tv? I have tried putting tv on channel 3.

Depending on how many hook ups you have on your tv it may have a factory designated channel. Example: Video 1, Game, etc. I know my TV has several different video channels. It's more a matter of trial and error until you find the vidoe channel for your oulet. Input channels are usually found before channel 1. Or look on your remote and see if it has a button to switch the channel to your input channel. Good Luck.

Turn on TV and it stays on channel 6 for 1 minute.

the problem probably on the corroded channel and volume switch tri to clean the switch with a contact can buy it on the electrical/electronic store...also check for any corossion at the system ic on yhe main board. there are two big ic on the mainboard one is the jungle ic or chroma and the other one is the system ic which is feets are directly connected to the channel/volume switches
clean the in between of the feets/terminal of the ic.and this will solve the problem

Input problem

If you have the original remote, hit video, source, or input button, if it dont have them, then try to change the tv to channel 00 (zero or zerozero), if not then the channels might have to scroll to it, from channel 02 down to make it loop, if it goes to the next highest channel, then you need a remote. It may be set in the menu options to have the video source not saved to your list of saved channels. when you scan the channels, the tv might not look for the A/V source (audio / video), maybe just the RF source. The 3 DVD RCA wires are 1 video and 2 stereo, one stereo for left and one stereo for right. The TV has only 2 , 1 for video and 1 for mono 1 channel sound. This wouldnt have anything to do with why you cant use the DVD player. but try that with the original remote (or a universal remote that is set to your tv set that has either video, input, source or something similar. It is what tells the tv to change from the cable source (RF) and the AV source (the Red White and Yellow plugs, in your TV's case, 2 plugs, one yellow and the other either red or white or something). Dont really know how to explain it much more but hope it helps.

Can't find a channel to watch a DVD pre-recorded DVD

you should have a input select button on your remote. video 1 should be the front and video 2 should be the back. i had to buy 3 or 4 different universal remotes when mine messed up just to get the one button to change to change it to the inputs because there is no other way to change it to that with he buttons on the tv. kinda surprised that you didn't try and push that button yet.

TV will not get cable channels

If you have it hooked up to a digital box, it shouldn't matter if the TV is on cable or antenna mode. The only thing that matters is that the TV is on channel 3. Channels will be changed on digital box. Some newer TV's use input 1 or 2 or AUX for it to work. If I were you i would hook everything up and start playing with the channels going up and down until you get a picture.
