Question about Toshiba Satellite M105-S1021 Notebook

2 Answers

I have a Toshiba Satellite M105-s1021. I try to upgrade from 1.5gb ram to 2.0gb ram and i get a blue screen of death. I switch the slots that the chips are in and then i get nothing but a black screen and my hard drive indicator light stays on steadily. if i try each one individually in either slot they work fine. If i go back to 1.5gb it works fine. PLEASE HELP

    Hi there,

I don't have the same problem but I would like to pick your brain if you don't mind. You said that you installed two 1GB memory into your laptop, I was wondering how you managed to remove the standard 512mb that came with the computer as i can't seem to see where it is to remove it on my own. If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Steve

The module you bought is faulty or is not capable of running at the speed the system demands or is too fast for the machine, take the memory out and compare the speeds, for example 400MHz, 533HZ, 667MHz etc, if the new memory matches the old one its defective, if its higher say 1066MHz it may not be compatable with the pc

kind regards and please don't forget to rate us
