Re: no heat to dryer
It mean it dont have a gas pilot and it has a ignitor instead ,,,, if you turn on the dryer and dont see a glow then it may have a bad ignitor ,,, on a kenmore it should not have a door to open unless it is a old unit and the newer ones has a peep hole to see into.

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating
the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows
sometimes it is still not working properly.
It could be several other things thermal fuse, thermal cut out, hi limit thermostat, dryer coils, heat sensor,or igniter. All of these parts are inexpensive and easy to test and replace. There is a video atthttp://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html his will walk you thru the troubleshooting of these components. It may be a different model but the troubleshooting will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations. All parts come with installation instructions. Not all models are available. If you need help disassembling your machine there are videos of this also for most styles.
That is a sign that the coils that open the gas valve have become weak. The one sitting toward the outside has a 3 wire connector and works with the igniter. When worn out they may open the gas valve for about 3 second or sometimes not at all.If you look inside the door and get me the model number I will get the part number for you. Some people sale a kit of 2 each. Let me know, Sea Breeze
gas dryers would have an igniter to start the flame. check it first to see if its still ok. be carefull in handling them, they are very fragile. check also for availability of gas. could have a closed valve.
That model does not have a pilot light. It has an electronic ignitor. If it is not igniting, either the igniter is not getting a signal to ignite, the igniter is burned out, or the gas solenoid is broken. Probably the igniter is burned out. It is item number 3018 at RepairClinic.com.
