the device is a bypass which allows some air flow when there is a blockage. you have a blockage somewhere i suspect hence no suction. check all hoses carefully. take off the base and check the air duct away from the brush roll

thats because your brushroll is still rotating when you use your attachments throwing material from the floor out the wand tube. not much you can do about it on that model.

Check to see if the brush is turning when you have the vac on and the handel down 'of course keep your hands from that area when doing this ,you might have to lean the vac ,to see the resaults.

Did you check to make sure there isn't any small piece of dirt, etc. in the way? Keep working with it; it should reset back to normal
