SOURCE: display back light problem

There are several baclkight bulbs (or may be leds)

Either the bulbs are burn out, or there may be a crack in faceplate PCB that is stopping the power from getting to the backlights. If all other buttons/functions work ok, then suspect burnt out bulbs. Expecially if there's a lot of use on the unit. The bulbs can be replaced by a repiar center, or by you if you have the skills.

I hve a DEH-P7300 and the screen dies randomly and comes back on. Sometimes it will be fine for an hour, then dead for 2 days, back and so on... What can it be?? Thanks

This is a cable issue from the faceplate connetor to the main board on the unit. This is a common issue with these units the cable runs around 15 to 20 bucks

I have a pioneer deh-p700r what is the orange ILL wire for?

ILL stands for Illumination... basically when you dim the lights in your car using the dimmer switch, this will change the back light on the stereo unit.
