I have a HP Probook laptop 6555b and last week while using it , it displayed that it was not charging. I checked the connector with a multimeter and found it was damaged.I replaced with a spare one t

Check your Adapter Cables properly connected or take your battery from the Laptop and put it back. Then try restarting. If nothing helps check your Adapter with another same model Laptop. If the Adapter working well then your Battery is dead!.

My hp compaq tc4200 wont turn on.if i plug power cable it shows charging after few seconds it wont charge i removed battery but the problem still

Here below are possible causes and troubleshooting steps of laptop that can't power on, hope it may help:
Possible causes:

1. AC adapter failure.
2. Power jack failure.
3. Motherboard failure.

Possible troubleshooting steps and repair solutions:
1. Test your compaq tc4200 power supply with a digital multimeter. It's possible that you have a failed AC adapter. If you don't have a multimeter, test your laptop with another known good AC adapter.

2.It's possible that power jack (socket where you plug the AC adapter) is broken. Remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. In some cases you can fix the jack by resoldering it on the motherboard. In other cases you have to replace the jack with a new one. Using a multimeter, test if the power goes to the motherboard through the jack.

3. If replacing the AC power adapter and jack on the motherboard doesn't help, most likely you have a bad motherboard. Replace the motherboard.

System not coming up

Check the adapter is working or not try with other power socket. If you have multimeter check the output voltage is between 12v to 20v. If not shown the voltage then the adapter might be problem. Check with genuine adapter.

It possible that you battery needs to be calibrated. Here are some steps that may help resolve this issue:

  2. Disconnect the AC adapter from the notebook PC.
  3. Click Start , enter power in the Search field, and then selectPower Options from the list.
  4. Select Create a power plan from the left sidebar.
  5. Click in the Plan name field and type Calibrator . Then, press Enter .
  6. Select Never for all topics in the On battery column.
  7. Click Create to accept the values and force the battery to consistently discharge.
  8. Allow the battery to discharge completely until the notebook PC shuts down.

I have a averatec 7100 and in 3 weeks I tried to on the power and it would not on. no power the adeptor is on I checked to see if there is a power on the adeptor but the laptop is not charging the battery...

Hello,

Try removing the battery and then plug in the power adapter and try to power it on. If no good, get someone to test the power adapter with a voltage meter. The adapter may be dead. If the power adapter is okay, you may need to buy a new laptop.

Please let me know what happens, and I may be able to help more.

Regards,

Joe

Toughbook will not start, we have it plugged into the wall and when we switch it on the battery light turns red and nothing else happens? Thanks, Brad M.

> battery light turns RED

For Panasonic computers, that indicates that the battery is almost completely discharged (it's YELLOW while charging, and GREEN while fully-charged).

So, my guess is that your AC adapter has failed,
and that your battery needs recharging.

Or, the socket where the AC adapter connects into your computer is damaged, such that no power from the AC adapter is reaching the computer.

Take a "MultiMeter" and check the voltage & amperage output-level from your AC charger. If "zero", go onto eBay and search on the part-number, to find a compatible replacement part.

Laptop is not charging

Do you have a voltmeter or a test light? It's either the power supply cord, the battery or the charging curcuit on the motherboard. Does anything light up when you connect the power cord to the laptop?

Hp zv6000 batt ran down now will not charge or power up on ac power

This can be caused by a few problems, but I think yours is caused by a faulty power jack on laptop or your power adapter is no good.

Power Adapter: Plug it into the wall and notice if the light on adapter lights up or not. If it does light up, test it with a multimeter for proper voltage output. The output is labeled on the adapter sticker, an example would be "19 volts". If the adapter checks out okay then you need to look at where the adapter plugs into the laptop (power jack). If the power adapter did not check out okay, replace it.

Power jacks are known to come loose from the motherboard by the power cord being moved around from normal daily use. What happens is the jack breaks the solder joint and loses the connection. You most of the time see this problem getting worse by having to move your power cord around to get your charging light to come on.

If the computer is under warranty still, this is an issue you would turn it in for work. If it is not under warranty you are either going to need a replacement motherboard or replace/re-solder the jack (cheaper). If you are familiar with soldering circuit boards you can fix this yourself, if you are not experienced, you will have to take it into a electronics repair shop.

The jack and solder are very cheap, it is the labor that will cost you.

Hope this helps give you some direction as to where to look. Good luck.

NOT CHARGING CANT TURN ON

The modern adaptors are 'switched mode' that allows them to accept a wide range of input voltages (typically 100-240 VAC). Unfortunately, they have some components in them that are critical to their operation and on these, many mfrs. like to cheat on quality. This causes the early demise of the supply.
I saw Acer supplies offered at <$20 US searching on Google so I suggest you replace the supply. Note; this may not fix your problem anyhow as most laptops have a bit of circuitry inside to control the input from the pack and choose whether to use the battery or not. If that fails, the unit may not receive input from either.

Laptop not turning on

If you replace the main battery and it will not charge, make sure the AC adapter is working (You can test the output with a multimeter) and make sure the LED on the Adapter stays on when connected to the system. Most likely, the motherboard has failed and will need replacement
