Question about Kenwood DDX-6019 Car DVD Player

2 Answers

New DDX-6019 I am having an issue with my DDX6019 that is newly installed. I can not get a disk to load (easily anyway) or eject. I got a CD to play, but not a DVD. It trashed both though by etching a groove about 2" out form center. I've heard that tehre is a shipping screw possibly that needs to be removed that could be causing the problems. Can anyone tell me where to find this on this unit? Thanks!

I'd say something has came loose or foreign material gotten in. Never heard of a shipping screw inside a unit.

Haha ok shipping screw in a double din unit i have never seen before but in dual which is a big pos. but there should and will not ever be a screw that holds the laser in on a double din unit because the laserated in the very middle of the player on these models. sounds like you have a defective driver so i would try and get it exchanged or call kenwood

You might have your brown (mute) wire shorting out (grounding itself) near your brake pedal. Locate the brown wire from the rear and make sure that it completely taped making sure that it does not touch anything metal.

Doesn't eject my disks

I held my eject button down for more than 3 sec and it spit the DVD out and cleared the eject code when I reinserted it. Try it and see. But make sure it's a CD/DVD you really don't care about.
