Re: tv not getting ON
You have a short somewhere in your set.Either the power supply or the high voltage circuit.
The noise is the power supply telling you that it's over loaded.
You need to take it to the shop and get an estimate of repairs.
- If you need clarification, ask it in the comment box above.
- Better answers use proper spelling and grammar.
- Provide details, support with references or personal experience.

If the humming sound remain the same in all inputs (DVD player, game console, cable, etc), then this is an indication that the sound output circuitry gone to malfunction. It is commonly caused by faulty sound output IC, bad solder joints, insufficient voltage supply, improper grounding. The unit needs to check by a qualified TV technician to isolate where the fault came from. I would advice you to ask for an estimate first to your local repair shop to have an idea how much money you are going to spend (service fee plus parts lets say sound output IC) sending the unit in. Feel free to ask question if you have further queries. Have a nice day! Jdvillanueva
You have a magnetic interference problem. First, have you put any magnetic objects like speakers near the set recently. They will cause this. Turn the set off at the wall and wait for 15 mins for the PTC device that turns on the degauss coil to cool and operate. It is the loud burst of hum you here when you turn the set on from cold.
The PTC is a postive tempeture coefficient that allows alot of current to flow at first, heating up as it does, and then slowly less current as it heats. This is why you need to turn the set off and let it cool. If the problem remains The PTC may be faulty allowing too much current to flow and upsetting the magnetic flux about the tube. If you dont have the skills you will need a technician to sort it out for you.
Hello Jjwpod hi, to find where the trouble is, you need to place ear near speakers, you should hear a humming sound, adjust the volume up or down, the humming sound also goes up or down, this means your amplifier is working, no hum means trouble in amplifier. summary: No hum: trouble in amplifier, speaker connection. Humming, but no audio: problem before amplification, most likely the Sound IF stage.
Check the audio menu and make sure it is in the stereo mode and that the alt sound is not on. some times the remote button gets pushed by mistake when turning it off. If everything in the menu looks ok it may be the cable converter box. If you can hear anything from the speakers the output is working. Try a DVD to see if you get sound from it.
you have damage your tv micro chip, regulator ,or horizontal output with static current when you plug out your tv from th plug, what is clicking is the relay trying to power up your tyv but due too the damage it cannot power have a tech repair your tv good luck
May be that the colour Amp is at fault or the tube is busy failing. Commonly it would be the colour Amp (Dry joints or faulty drivers). The Green is dead. I have had cases where power surge can magnetise the tube to such an extend that the whole picture will show one colour. In your case I doubt it very much. Good Luck,JUS004
