Question about HP Compaq dc5100 Small Form Factor PC Desktop

Video driver ok I admit it, I was an idiot and disabled the on board video through the device manager in system tools. windows starts but then the screen goes black obviously. it hangs in safe mode also. Is there any way I can re-enable the on board video [I looked everywhere through the BIOS and found nothing pertinent I don't think] without having to find and old PCI video card to detect new hardware? and one more, I have Office 2003 on our machines using XP Pro. all of a sudden I cannot save certain excel/word files stored on our server to my local machine or send them as attachments. when someone else sends me the docs as attachments I am not able to save those locally either? is this remedy a reinstall of the Office 2003 software? thank you so much for your help, I'm at the end of my rope

I did try last known good config and that didn't work... I didn't try VGA mode. I did try safe mode with command prompt but I thought it was hanging there. half of the words on boot up are cut off on the left of the screen but I will check to see if it leaves me at a command prompt and will try that system root command you suggested. how do you get to the recovery console at start-up?

Can you boot up in VGA mode? start pressing F8 as soon as the pc starts to boot try "last known good config" try booting in "VGA mode", try select Safe Mode with command prompt, you will see a screen asking for the OS, press enter, when you get to the command prompt type in %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe and if all else fails... you can enable it through the recovery console
