I have a intel d845gvad2 motherboard..... and os:windows xp professional sp3 and i use sigmatel ac 97 audio driver.... but the sound output is not clear it is scratchy ... i tried installing realktek...

The Desktop Board D845GVAD2 offers integrated audio that uses a portion of the Intel® 82801DB I/O Controller Hub 4 (ICH4) with a SigmaTel* STAC9750/STAC9766 audio codec to create the basic audio subsystem.
It has The AC'97 (Audio Codec 1997) specification defines a high-quality audio architecture that advances the migration to digital audio, while maintaining support for analog interconnects for backward compatibility.
So uninstall your current driver otherwise your system will continue to undergo hardware failure & reboot continuously.
If your sound is still not good there's nothing to do except to install a sound card in your PCI slot & get better sound.
