Have you tried a different cat 5 cable? Sometimes the cable goes bad. So try a different ethernet cable

I cant install my router. The internet, power, WLAN, and DMZ lights are all on, but none of the Ethernet port lights are on, but when I try to complete the install I get the following error message: Unable...

If the ethernet light is not coming that means your router is not detecting your computer. Try to plug the computer on any other port.

To check if your ethernet ports are fine you can perform a loop back test. You can take a cable which is not connected to anything. Than put one end of the cable to one ethernet port and put other end of that same cable to any other ethernet port. If the light on the ethernet ports led up means your ports are fine and u need to reinsatll the drivers of the ethernet card on your computer. Else your routers ethernet port are not functioning. If that is the case you can try to reset the router.

Let me know your finding.

**If this works please rate else let me know in case of further help.**

I am trying to connect my Dell XPS one PC to a D link router, but I keep gettingan error message that the ethernet cable is not properly connected. There is only one port and the cable is correctly...

You need to be more specific as far as your layout. On your modem there is only one Ethernet port that needs to have a cable running into your D-Link router's WAN port. Now take a second Ethernet cable and run it from an available port on the D-Link router to your Dell XPS.
You may need to check that you have the correct Network Adapter driver installed. They are a bunch of scenarios that could be your problem. But with the little bit of information you provided, its hard to narrow it down for you.

Ethernet adapter error during install

Your ethernet adapter might be disabled. Go to Control Panel > Network Connections and look for Local Area Connection. Right-click it and choose Enable. Or go to Device Manager and Enable it there. If that didn't help, try to use a different Ethernet cable.

Cant connect my G5 to the Router to get internet

two things to consider. There are two different types of Ethernet cables out there. Perhaps you have a one way cable for the second one. To test this, unhook the working cable from the mac that gets internet and then hook that one up to the one that doesn't get it. See if it sees the network after a minute. The other issue might be in the Operating System. You might need to make sure that they are both up to date with all of the latest updates installed. (I know, hard to do with out an internet hook up.)
Lastly, make sure you are plugging in the cable to the right place on the back of the router. Seems silly, but some of the best have accidentally put it into a link plug to connect several routers rather than an actual Ethernet plug.

Modem usb connection

You can only use the USB connection or the ethernet connection to get it work.  It won't work on both.
What type of router are you using?

Check that the wireless drivers are installed properly on both your laptop and desktop. THe certificate error is because your laptop does not "trust" your computer. Under network conections click add a connection ec, and when you try to conect, microsoft should ask you weva to trust the connections from computer to computer that should do it :D
