If you are talking about the wallpaper,

you can do it by stretching the picture..

Go to Display properties >> Desktop >>> Position >> stretch <<<< it will make your picture fill the whole screen.

You see the front panel of the monitor? There are switches there on the menu inside there normally under images you can see an auto adjust option or you can do a manual adjustment.

Go to picture menu , and chose picture format , Auto, 16:9, or 4:3, depending on the TV model.

On your tv model, the format is widescreen, therefore, set the screen to 16:9.

Some TV channel is still broadcasting the squared 4:3 picture, in that case there is nothing to do , for those channels or transmission broadcasting in 4:3 format, you will always get two vertical bands or a deformed picture.

How to get an undistorted picture without cropping. This is an Olevia, and it is not listed below.

I assume you have a wide screen tv? most TV show are broadcast in a square (4:3) format, on a wide screen television the screen is rectangular, so to fit the square picture on the rectangle screen you have to either crop the top and bottom, or stretch and distort the image. the only real solutions are either to watch everything in the 4:3 format (leaving the sides of your screen blank), or subscribe to HD which will broadcast most programs in a wide screen format with out distortion.

I just bought a panasonic TH-42PX80B plasma TV, but I don't get a full screen. I get a vertical black band on the side. Is it a mecanical problem and should I bring it back to the shop or is it something I...

To start check the video setting , so to ensure that you are not just talking about the side bands that you get when you watch a squared screen (4:3) picture on your new rectangular screen (16:9).

If the problem is also with an external receiver, test on a different device, like a DVD.

If the above did not fixed the problem, then you have a faulty Lower buffer board, or a bad connector to plasma screen.

In this case call immediately the seller to arrange replacement.

No display on flip out screen

I have a Sony DCR-TRV30. Your camara is probably similar. On the bottom left outside corner of mine, there are two buttons, labeled "exposure" and "program AE," and a small thumb wheel above them. Set the indicator to "camera" and open the screen. Push the "exposure" button and a light grey rectangular screen with a minus sign on one end and a plus sign on the other will appear near the top left corner of the screen. Rotate the thumb wheel so that the small black square in the rectangular screen will move from the "+" side towards the "-" side while the image on the screen gets darker.

Screen Resolution
This slide bar is what you use to change the resolution, the options you have will depend on your graphics card and monitor.

Changing the Resolution
To change your resolution simply slide the bar along to the resolution of your choice and then click the Apply button.

After clicking Apply your screen will resize to the new resolution and you will be presented with a confirm dialogue box (see left), if you are happy with the way your screen looks then simply click Yes, if you would like to try a different resolution click No.

When you have finished simply close the Display properties box.

Let me know if it helps...

Normal picture mode make the sharper picture quality but smaller screen apparance

If the broadcast is in 4:3 (square) then either you can have the black bars on the side, or the TV can stretch the image to fill the screen.
Nothing wrong with your set. The broadcast must be in 16:9 to fil the screen.
