Manual for vivitar vivicam 8025 digital camera not one when i purchased it

You may download the instruction manual here.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto and Windows Photo Gallery.

How do I get the usb to work on my computer? I have it plugged in to the port on both camra and computer.

Make sure you have turned the camera on once the usb is plugged in. If you are on a Mac you should see the icon for the camera appear on your screen. If you are on a pc you should click on "My Computer" and look for the camera there (it may appear as a drive i.e. D drive.)
Most times just finding the drive and opening it will enable you to access what you want from the camera.
Otherwise you may have to download drivers to operate it further.
