Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console

Gameshark problems I had a Gameshark and it worked fine. My little sister stepped on it so now it doesn't work. My birthday was 4 weeks ago and I got a brand new Gameshark. It makes a screeching noise when I put it in. Sometimes it doesn't. Most of the time it says "disc read error" and sometimes the screen turns red and says "please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 disc". What should I do?

Re: Gameshark problems

Everytime I get to the part when it says "Please put in the game disk" Or something like that, it loads for a little bit, says "reading disk" for a brief moment, then the screen goes black. What should I do?

Re: Gameshark problems

Ah that happens to me. I threw mine at the wall, and then it worked. (True Story). And I get the awful screetching noise too. I think it has something to do with the "Fatty PS2s" Do you have a fatty PS2?

The game will start and the screen gets past the "gameboy" logo with the little jingle, but after that it just stays at a white screen. without the gameshark, the game works fine. i dont know if...

The connectos on either side of the cart is dirty, Here is a simple solution. Take out your gameshark and switch it to off. Blow in You game boy cartridge slot and your game shark. Put your gameshark in, then take it out . Repeat this process a couple times.

Thank you for your time, Good luck and I hope this works

My 360 is freezing up a little.

I've heard that when you put discs in the 360 and have the machine perpendicular to the ground, scratches sometimes occur. From my own personal experience, physically moving the 360 while playing a disc can sometimes cause scratches. I'd call 1-800-4-MYXBOX and ask them about it. Try their tech support and hopefully any fixes fall within your warranty or are easier than that. I'm sure that they'd be glad to help. Good luck!

I have a playstation2 console that will not recognize my gameshark2 disc as a ps2 disc can someone help the gameshark disc is formatted for ps2

i was having a similar problem with a brand new v.2.2 gameshark(blue bottom).
Then i decided to stand m system vertically instead of horizontally and it's been working fine since i put it vertically.

I also try to reset your ps2 with the gs2 disk still in the tray a couple of times and see what happens.....

and does all of your GS2 disk got scratches?

and by the ways, many ps2 version, like version 4 with the R after or version 5 and up will need GS2 version 1.9A / 1.9B / 1.9C / 1.9D or 2.0 and above to be booting with those ps2 version....

but i know GS2 version 2.1 will work with every new ps2 version.....

Mine does that sometimes.I got it on Ebay for just a few dollars. I think it does that when there isn't a good connection between the game/gameshark/N64. I always use the "hot breath" method - breathe on the slots of both the gameshark and game, as if you were trying to warm up your hands in wintertime, or fog up a mirror. It might take a couple of tries, but it usually works.
If that fails, try cleaning the slots of the gameshark and game with a Q-tip - there can be a lot of corrosion on the copper connections - but don't use any kind of cleaning agent, just rub at it. The Q-tip will probably end up being gray or black. Then try it again.
Good luck!

Game shark problems

Gameshark is a 3rd party disk and sometimes depend how the disk was made. The laser inside is calibrate to read the format specified from the manufacture (SONY) and quite few time the laser ned to be adjusted a little bit to make work but i do suggest to try another disk if still doing the same .The reading issue is a common problem for ps2.If your machine is a slim one i suggest to replace laser since are not expensive and can give more boost to your game
