I have an acer aspire t160-ic7e and a ms sidewinder joystick but the connector doesent fit any pc sockets

You either have to look for something to convert what ever connection it is to one of the connection that you do have.

You have the old game port connector. I have one of those too and researched it and even bought one of the adapters. What I found is that the adapters will generally work EXCEPT if your unit has force feedback. The force feedback versions of the MS sticks uses a special protocol that the adapters can't handle. I haven't looked recently, but if you look for an adapter make sure it says it will support force feedback (most will say they don't). In my case I just bought a new joystick.

i have 3 sticks that i want rid of some need new micro switches fitted , i have the switches all you need do is fit the switches i think i have an instuction somewhere on how to pull a sidewinder 2 apart

buy a joystick that will work with win7, because the MS Sidewinder has no driver, and MS has no vested interest in developing one...

Acer Aspire t160 issues


ok heres how you remove bios password.

Open the door where the RAM is fitted and remove RAM from the holders. Look for two metal bars (GOLD?) near or between the RAM sockets.
Take a papare clip and short the bars out against each other. Replace the ram close the trap and reboot. That should do it

Download the correct drivers for it that fit your operating system. Install them and away you go. Type into Google "Microsoft sidewinder drivers"..download and follow on-screen instructions to install them
